The CARPET. To the carpet people, its vastness knows no bounds. These tiny people are so small that their city, Ware is the size of a period. But living on the carpet can have its dangers. For example, FRAY, the absolutely terrifying natural phenomenon that destroys entire cities. One day the members of the Munrung tribe are peacefully minding their own business when suddenly, FRAY destroys the village! So Snibril, a Munrung, and his brother, Glurk lead the tribe across the Carpet. BUT, they run into Mouls, evil beings who use Fray to conquer cities. How will Snibril stop the Mouls? Pax
By Sara Pennypacker
My dog once ran away and I thought I lost her for good and missed her so much when I went to look for her. This book is about a fox named pax and a boy named peter. Peter has known Pax ever since he was a kit. But one day Peter's dad enlisted in the military, which leads to him demanding Peter to send his fox back into the forest/wild. Once it's time for Peter's dad to leave he sends Pax out in the forest and Peter to his grandparents' house. There he decides he isn't with who he wants to be and sneaks out to find Pax. Peter had a lot of adventure trying to find him, but so did Pax. My connection to this book is when I lost my dog a had that same feeling of sadness and the only thing I wanted was her so I was determined to get her.

The Baby-Sitters Club Super Special #5: California Girls
By Ann M. Martin
When the BSC girls win the lottery, they know exactly where they want to go...sunny California! Not only does Dawn's father and brother live there, but there is also so many adventures to be had. When they get there, California does not disappoint. Jessi gets to be an extra in a TV program, Stacey learns how to surf, Kristy shows what she's made of to the We ❤ Kids Club, and so much more fun! On top of the excitement, the girls are able to baby-sit. I absolutely adored this book! It was super fun and engaging. The change of narration was perfect; letting the reader see how all the girls' experiences were. In the book, there are still many life lessons learned. Definitely one of the best BSC Super Specials! I suggest this book if you like California, adventure, baby-sitting, and friendship! Happy reading!!

My Sweet Orange Tree
By José Mauro de Vasconcelos
The book takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the year 1920. Zézé is 5 years old and he wants to be a bow tie-wearing poet. But for now, he plays pranks on other people living in his neighborhood. Zézé puts wax on sidewalks so that people slip and fall. He's so naughty that people say he's the devil's grandson. He lives in a big family with three sisters and two brothers. They are so poor that nobody gets Christmas presents. In the book, Zézé meets many people, including Pinkie the orange tree and Seu Ariovaldo, a musician. But one day he makes a real friend, Portuga. At first, they're enemies, but as they get to know each other, he becomes a father to Zézé. The book was funny and sad, and I enjoyed reading it. The translation was also great!
