It very well might go up years and years from now, when they become more rare. So, for example, in 2100, a penny may be worth more than $00.01. It wouldn't surprise me; I'd say it's quite likely.

Yes, I may put a collection of pennies for my future children in my will for when they die, requesting they pass them down, so maybe one day my great, great-great, and even great-great-great grandchildren can hold one.
