I really enjoy Gordon Korman’s novels, because they are filled with humor, adventure, plot twists, and much more. This one has different points of view per chapter, and is an amazing read for middle-school book-lovers. Well, you don’t have to be a book-lover to enjoy this phenomenal book. It is about this school that is miles away from any other town, much less a city. And nothing ever exciting really happens there. But one day, someone finds a swastika graffitied IN THEIR SCHOOL. Who would do such a thing? But it’s not that big of a deal, right? For there’s only one swastika. Someone will cover it up, and nothing will have happened. But then another swastika appears. And another. Soon, the whole school is swimming in swastikas. And to add on to Chokecherry’s problems, some not-so-nice things happened in their past: things that make these swastikas a bigger deal than before. Will the students of Chokecherry go back to the way things were, before all the swastikas, or will they always have people to remember the horrible things that went down?

But, when Keenan gets tuberculosis, he has to stay with his dad in a boring town called Centerlight. And while Kennan is recovering from TB, another character, Zarabeth(otherwise known as ZeeBee), is talking her head off about how her dog, Barney, got murdered; but no one believes her because she also talks about the most useless stuff there is to talk about. After Keenan recovers, he realizes that ZeeBee may not be that far from the truth after all. In this Korman book, there is mystery, humor, and adventure for middle-school readers. I definitely recomend. 👍😁
