The Smartest Kid in the Universe is a great book. Its about a boy named Jake who the most lazy person in his school. One day, Jake eats some jellybeans that he found lying around in the hotel where his mom works. A few minutes later, he finds out that he's supersmart!!!He knows a bunch of stuff. The girl that he likes, Grace Garcia, told him that their principle is planning to tear down the school and steal her ancestor's treasure! Now Jake has to find out how to keep her from destroying the school with his supersmart powers.

Front Desk by Kelly Yang is a book about a girl named Mia Tang who has just come from China and started working in a motel with her parents as the front desk manager. their boss Mr. Yao is very mean and so is his son Jason Yao. As Mia starts 5th grade she not only has to go through the harships of school but also the hardships of her home: the motel. Her job is managing the front desk and her best friend Lupe also helps her sometimes. I love this book and hope you do too.
