Reading a book called SGT. RECKLESS: America's war horse by Robin Hutton. I really love it so far and it's a great teen read if you're into History and true war stories! I'd love to write a review for it- it would probably be one of my best yet, but it isn't on DOGO. It's a true story about the Korean War, which a lot of people know very little about. Reckless is certainly a hero- having won two Purple Hearts, The Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, The Presidential Unit Citation With Star, The Navy Unit Citation, The National Defense Service Medal, The United Nations Service Medal, The Korean Service Medal with three Stars, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and she achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. She served during the battle for Outpost Vegas, carrying ammunition, making 51 round trips, traversing a 45-degree incline each time across a battlefield and through trenches with enemy fire coming at a rate of five hundred rounds per minute- and she did it all alone. She carried 386 rounds of ammunition- nearly FIVE TONS of explosives and covered more than thirty-five miles that day- solo, though often hauling injured Marines on her way back. Reckless and her story has been forgotten, despite being the only animal to hold an official ranking in the Marines- and once, when cussed out by a solider for nipping him, watched as the solider was nearly written up for cussing out someone who outranked him, much to the solider's dismay! Story time over ;)

Hi guys, guess what!! I'm going to HAWAII for Christmas Break!! We are leaving on the 23rd, spending Christmas Eve & Christmas in our apartment in another town in our state, then on the 26th we are going on a 7 hour airplane ride to Hawaii!! We had wanted to, and then COVID kind of changed that plan, and then we were like whatever, we can do it anyway but I PROMISE we will be super safe on the way there and when we are there, we have rented a condo and we will have a beach across the street so we won't even have to go anywhere haha. I am really excited but I know some of you will think it's a bad idea because of COVID... please rest assured we will do everything possible to stay safe!! 😂 So because we are spending Christmas in an apartment, and we can't exactly bring a bunch of gifts on that airplane... we had Christmas yesterday!! I got a lot of stuff I had hoped for, including some books, earmuffs, sweatshirts (I'm wearing one right now!!) candy, and a lot of ornaments for our tree!
