Thank you! Happy Halloween to you too! Are you doing anything fun this Halloween?

Hey y'all!! I know, I know, I haven't been active in more than two months except for the occasional visit... sadly it's going to stay that way now that I have school from 7:55-2:30 with after school sports + homework. I see some new people and I'd like to say welcome!! Just so you can all get to know me a little more, I'll tell you about myself and feel free to ask questions! I'm an 8th grader this year, but I was homeschooled last year so this is actually my first, and last :( year of middle school. I have a twin brother and older sister. For fun I love reading, hanging out with friends, and I play competitive soccer!! I joined DOGO about 2 years ago. Some books I've read recently and liked a lot are the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyers (the whole series was absolutely amazing) and Salt to the Sea & Between Shades of Gray, both by Ruta Sepetys and about World War 2. Her writing is incredible, and I learned SO much. Definitely for older kids/teenagers :) Have a great day everyone! <3

Awesome. Thank you for the welcome! I am super new here but I love it! It is great to have you back, @roxanne3!

Wow! It's great to see you again. :)

Has anyone read any good books? I’m making a ‘to read list’ and I need suggestions.

They are super long though so don't start reading them if you hate long books!

How about Hunger Games or Spy School?

Have u ever heard of Everything,Everything by Nicola Yoon.

Idk what genre you like, but some random books that I've liked a lot recently are 100 Days of Sunshine, Salt to the Sea, Where the Heart Is, and the Lunar Chronicles. Those are all scattered through age recommendations and genres so make sure you look up the books and decide if they are appropriate for you before reading :)

Oh, and a small note about the Babysitter's Club, I suggest the older ones, not the graphic novels or the ones that came out this year...I prefer the old ones. And when I say old, I mean 1986 kind of old. Yeah, that might seem like a long time ago but I LOVE the 80s BSC books. Thanks!

Okay, cool! I suggest: Whatever After series, OCDaniel, Restart, Life in Motion, Who is Sonia Sotomayor, Who was Ruth Badger Ginsburg, Book of Kings, Book of Queens, and the Babysitter's Club series. I hope you enjoy. P.S. I am not sure how old you are but I think these books would be good for upper elementary and middle school.

You should try Divergent or The City of Ember!
