Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.

The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.

August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.

"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

This emotionally heartbreaking tale is about 5th grader Auggie, who isn’t the same. He was born with a facial difference that prevented him from going to school, but now, he’s going, and he’s thriving. Told from many POV’s, you will learn Auggie’s struggles, the support he receives, and his pain all wrapped into one. But soon Auggie learns that you can’t blend in if you are supposed to stand out. In this book, readers will learn that being different is okay, and that people aren’t always who they seem to be. Happy Reading! ~ boba-books.

Wonder is one of those rare books that stays with you long after you turn the last page. R.J. Palacio crafts a beautiful, honest, and deeply moving story about Auggie Pullman, a boy born with a facial difference who steps into a mainstream school for the first time. What follows is a journey of courage, kindness, and self-acceptance—not just for Auggie, but for everyone around him.

Wonder is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. It tells the story of Auggie, a boy with a facial difference, and how he bravely faces the world starting school for the first time. This book made me laugh, cry, and really think about kindness, empathy, and how we treat others. The different perspectives from characters added so much depth and helped me understand everyone’s side. It’s a story that stays with you and makes you want to be a better person. Truly unforgettable!

The book and the movie are soo good!

:) recommend this book to y’all

I love this book, it shows how it matters who you are on the inside, and how looks don't matter. My favorite character is Auggie. I like him because he has a deformed face and ends up becoming the popular kid. By the way, you have to read it!

This book is amazing. I might just be sensitive, but I cried twice while reading this book. And I literally hugged it when I was finished. When we see people who are different we all do this thing to them. We look at them strange, and then maybe quickly smile or laugh at the surprise, and it really hurts. They are like any other person! We don't have to be extra nice to them, or super mean. This is explains that from a hard point of view. Auggie is a regular kid. Except his face. And he just wants to fit in. His parents put him into school, and he has never been there before. This shows his whole school year, and he faces a lot! Loss, friendship, love pain. That is what this book means to me. Give this book a chance. I think you will love it.

Wonder is a novel that's basically about a boy called August with facial deformities that separated him from other kids in school, making him the spotlight-but in a bad way, of Beecher Prep(school name). Several people bully and don't accept August in his first year at school, and that causes him to lose self confidence. But soon, with the help of his family and friends, he soon understands it's okay to be different from other people. Wonder is a really heartwarming story, teaching us to be kind to ourselves and others-I believe this book will have a great influence on everyone!
