Katherine Tyler but best known as just Kit as we go back in 1700s, where the period of which many people had believed that the witches were real so they would literally do anything to put stop to this event. Killing and torturing others were very common in the seventeenth century in early America. Hannah Tupper, one of Kit's friends, who were constantly in the danger due to the people thinking of that she is a witch while in reality she's really not. Or Mercy Wood, another one of friends of Kit's who was very pretty and eye-catching by the guys, possibly die of the illness, the mystery illness of which people back then doesn't know of how this actually real cause. This book, by Elizabeth George Speare is very good as the description of what the lives in the seventeenth century looks like plus with their beliefs, too. - Happy Reading!

Great book!
When her grandfather died and left debt everywhere, Kit Tyler paid all the debts by selling everything she owned in Barbados. When a pudgy faced man insists on marrying her, she leaves for her Aunt Rachel's home. When she arrives in the Connecticut Colony, she finds that she doesn't quite conform to her Puritan family's lifestyle and rules. She tries her best to fit in but is still unhappy with herself. Then she meets a Quaker named Hannah Tupper who is supposedly a witch. She feels at peace with Hannah and will do anything to keep her safe. Even if it means being accused of witchcraft. This book was absolutely legendary and explained that we have choices and that it is okay to be different. If I had to rate this book, I would give it a 150/100. That is how good it is. I seriously recommend this book to everyone.
I read and its the best!
When Kit's grandfather dies she is forced to leave her home on the island of Barbados. and now she must join her strictly puritan relatives in America. But Kit can't seem to fit in the quiet puritan life. But then she meets Hannah, a quiet old Quaker who is believed to be witch, Kit 's life changes. and she knows she'll do anything to keep Hannah from harm, even if she is accused of witchcraft herself. This story was really touching. And it provided a glimpse of what life was like during the witch trials, when innocent people where put to death for being accused of witchcraft.
This is the most boring book I have ever read in my whole life. Would not recommend.
This is one of the best books I have ever read. I had to read this book for school and I thought it would be boring and then after the first chapter I was surprised. It is about a girl named Kit who is 16.She is also courageous, outgoing, stubborn, and educated. In the book she is a social outcast. She goes on a ship to Connecticut.
Really good
Kit Tyler lived on a Caribbean island most of her life, until one day she is forced to move to The Connecticut Colony. Now lonely in this unfamiliar place, Kit stumbles upon another lonely soul, The Witch of Blackbird Pond. After their friendship is found out, danger seems to lurk.
This is a fantastic book! It is a must read. It is very well written
