I Funny TV: A Middle School Story

I Funny TV: A Middle School Story

By James Patterson, Chris Grabenstein

Jamie's happily-ever-after was short-lived–yes, he won the contest that he always dreamed of, but there's a catch. He did get his million bucks–but he signed a contract (he thought it was a receipt). Turns out, the moolah was just an advance payment for a pilot of his own TV show–Jamie Funnie. To make matters worse, there's a new bully in town, Jamie worries (and sweats) that he's not funny, his friends can't count on him anymore, his new teacher can teach six weeks worth of school in six minutes, and...well, I'll let you find out the rest when you read it. Just steer clear of Stewart Johnson and his bad jokes and you'll love this book just as much as I did!

Middle School: From Hero to Zero

By James Patterson, Chris Tebbetts

After sixth grade, the very worst year of his life, Rafe Khatchadorian thinks he has it made in seventh grade. He's been accepted to art school in the big city and imagines a math-and-history-free fun zone. Wrong! Anything he's never done before, he's going to do it, from learning to play poker to going to a modern art museum. But when his newest mission uncovers secrets about the family Rafe's never known, he has to decide if he's ready to have his world turned upside down. James Patterson's winning follow-up to "Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life" is another riotous and heart-warming story about living large.

Samantha Spinner and the Super-Secret Plans

Samantha Spinner and the Super-Secret Plans

By Russell Ginns

I got this book from my library. It took forever for it to come in, but it was worth the wait. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. I read it cover to cover without leaving my couch once. Samantha's uncle is missing. He was there Friday. And then - he wasn't! After a week, the Spinner family find a note in their waffle maker, explaining that Uncle Paul was actually a rich explorer. And he gives them some pretty big presents. Sam's sister gets $2,400,000,000, and her brother gets the New York Yankees. Sam can't wait to get her present. It must be big - exciting - expensive! But all she gets is an umbrella with a note attached to it. It says "Watch out for the RAIN". Sam spends a week moping around the house, when her little brother notices something weird about the inside of the umbrella... It's a map! Follow Sam and Nipper, her little brother, on their adventures around the world, and watch them battle ninjas with baguettes, go on white water rapids without a raft, and more! I recommend this book for kids 8-11.

Heart and Soul: The Story of Florence Nightingale

Heart and Soul: The Story of Florence Nightingale

By Gena K. Gorrell

I admire her super hard work in making the hospitals clean and her kind heart in helping the wounded soldiers get better. it's very sad that she didn't have good health herself.
