Aiden plays soccer on the Thunder team with his friend Daniel, and they are bound and determined to win the trophy this year. When they go to the library with Aiden's twin sister Ava to get copies of Wharton's The Age of Innocence for school, they learn from the librarian that the trophy is question is a replacement, the original one having been stolen from the library forty years previously. The mystery was never solved, and since the twins' grandmother had been a librarian at that time, they decide to investigate. Their grandmother is 84, and her memory is not the best, but she does give them a few clues. They interview the police chief at the time, who is very helpful and interested, as well as the soccer coach, who is not. Daniel mentions that this is not the first missing soccer trophy, and the trio delve into the story of the disappearance of the World Cup trophy in 1983, which has never been solved. When the solution to the mystery ends up being closer to home than they ever imagined, how will they handle it? Strengths: They are short, strong enough on sports details that I don't quite understand some of them (which is a GOOD thing), and have characters who work really well together. Adding an element of mystery to this is perfect, and a great way to let fans of early chapter book mysteries like Ron Roy's or David A. Kelly's Ballpark Mysteries challenge themselves a bit. The retro cover is attractive, and different from the regular sports books, and there's a bit more sports history than Bowen usually has, which is interesting, but the girl power message remains strong. I'm curious to see if Aiden and Ava get to do more investigation. Weaknesses: Bowen hasn't written much in the way of mysteries, so there are a few clunky moments when the kids decide to investigate that could have been avoided. The slight Encyclopedia Brown vibe will work well with younger students, but older ones who love mysteries will expect a more serious mystery. Think Souders' Coop Knows the Scoop-- it's a historical MURDER mystery. It was a bit unnerving when the kids went to visit the former police chief and he just invited them into his house to chat. Sure, Encyclopedia would have done that, but that seems like a bad idea in 2021. What I really think: Sports books are always super popular in my library, and Bowen's books see high circulation. It's good to see that Bowen made it to first base with this book, but it wasn't quite a home run.

This is an amazing book! I went to the Library and got almost all the books! I wish I could fins all of them, I couldn't find 9 and 10. But other then those it's amazing!

I loved this book. My sister owns the old BSC books, so I get to read these all the time. Kristy and Stacey are my favorite Babysitters. (But they all are amazing!) Kristy's mother has been through a lot, and Kristy wants to give her the best Mother's Day gift ever. But what? Kirsty has an exciting idea to invite all the kids the BSC girls sit for and have their mom's take a break from their children. With crying kids, sick children, and mischievous boys, the BSC girls have their hands full. Kristy is sure that this is the best surprise for her mother, but little does Kristy and her brothers know, their mother has a surprise of her own! I liked this book because it was exciting, fun, and inspiring. I suggest it for people who like babysitting, friendship, fun books.

these are really good books. i really like how the author has written in the perspective of different people but not in first person. also, i like how the book isn't in one person's perspective but changes between. story line terms, creative and indulging. it is very clear and funny at the same time serious. in conclusion, 10/10.

I. Hate. Dovepaw. Even if I sympathize with her for having such a huge destiny, she came off as quite whiny, and not a likeable character ( This is only my opinion. If you life Dovepaw, that's okay. Everyone has different opinions, and I am just sharing mine ) . Jayfeather was great, Lionblaze was meh, even though Ivypaw was a bit annoying, I sympathize with her, I liked Whitetail, Sedgewhisker, Petalfur, and Rippletail, I didn't care about Toadfoot, and Tigerheart just annoyed me. He acts like a kit. I am not a huge fan of books where all cats do is travel. Those three kittypets and Woody came off as quite oblivious and annoying. But Jayfeather's parts were cool, the beaver fight was invigorating, it ended on a cliff hanger, and it is home to one off the best quotes in Warrior Cat history. " Who are you, and what have you done with Blackstar?" 😂 3.5/5.

i think you should read this because if your looking for romance then you should read this its about a vampire and a werwolf fighting over a girl but the vampire turns her into a vampire and now the vampire and the girl are boyfriend and girlfriend and if you love books and movies about fighting read this its a 5 star to me

I received this set for Christmas, and I'm so happy to have read the set! This book is based on both fiction and nonfiction information. For the fact that Count Olaf and Dr. Montgomery Mongomery are both real people, they aren't the only ones. So many others are! Sunny, Violet and Klaus Baudelaire escaped the clutches of Olaf, who was in various disguises. Lemony Snicket actually mentioned his sister In this amazing series, and also puts the meaning of words and his connections to his story. As Lemony always says in the series, the book is miserable, horrifying, and never has a good ending :)

This book was a very confusing book. If you want a book that is a fast and a easy read, it is not this one. One the other hand, if you want a book about Ancient Rome this one is perfect. It has many historical events and cultural universals that were the same in Rome. It also takes great intrest in the way Romans lived. My opinion of this book it that it was to hard for kids my age to read. I would much rather read a different book on Rome that is more interesting and has pictures. Overall I think this was a good book for older people and that I think kids my age shouldn't read it.

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie is one of my favorite books of all time! The suspense that the reader is put through when devouring this book is torturous and delicious! I love the way this book breaks the conventional rules of a mystery novel while still supplying the thrill and clever sequence of events of a detective novel. Despite its relatively slow beginning, And Then There Were None provides a plot as exciting and engaging as Harry Potter. Unlike many older books, this one is supplied with enough activity and thrills to keep any reader interested and on the edge of their seat for the book's length. And trust me on this: you'll NEVER believe who the murderer is!
