“Ugly” is a true-story about a boy named Robert. Born with a large tumor in the middle of his face, he was different than other kids. With his first operation before the age of 1, he struggled to blend in with the crowd. As a young kid, many of his peers did not notice his differences. As he got older and attending a different school when he transitioned from fourth to fifth grade, people made fun of him and called him names. He went through an operation making medical history, and the hardship of not being able to play the sports he wanted to play. At first, his mom had not wanted to take him home, not because of what she thought of him, but because of what she was afraid others would think. After a month, Robert was taken home. Although he may have not had any legs, he had secret talents such as handwalking, Overall, I think this book was good however Robert’s life story went by fast and I do think the author could have added more details in between. The transitions between ages were well written, however. In conclusion, I recommend this book to grades 3-7. I rate it 4/5 and recommend it to people who are interested in reading books such as “Wonder” and “Out of My Mind”.

This book was okay...so Gina loves money and hope to become a millionaire before she's a teenager even though she's only 10 years old. During the summer she forms a group called the "Get Rich Quick Club" with her neighbors: Eddie, Teddy, Rob, and Quincy hoping to make a lot of money. And one day during one of their club meetings, Rob comes up with an idea to snap a fake picture of a UFO to sell to a newspaper to earn some money.

The Prince and the Pauper, by Mark Twain, teaches you to be happy with what you have. On one August day in the 1500s, two people were born. One was the prince of wales (Edward Tudor), and the other was Tom Canty, a London beggar. Their only similarities were that they looked the same and had the same voice. Years later, chance made them meet up. Edward wanted to have the free life of a pauper, and Tom wanted to see what it was like to be a prince. When they met together again, they swapped, and both learned to look forward to their own things. Edward did not live for long, but he lived fairly. Tom grew to be a wise old man. I recommend this classic for boys and girls, grades third to fifth.

Claudia is having a lot of trouble in school. More so than usual. So, when her English teacher says Claudia is about to fail the class, Claudia is disappointed but not surprises. Feeling alone and dumb, Claudia starts to get tutored by Stacey (Stacey is one of the BSC girls and Claudia's best friend), but Stacey is not compassionate about Claudia's situation and quite the tyrant! Does anyone understand what Claud is going through? Yes, Shea Rodowsky. Shea is an eight-year-old boy with dyslexia, and he feels the same way Claudia does; alone, dumb, and frustrated. So, when the two of them partner up to study with each other, this could be just the thing that will help Claudia pass her test. By the end of the book, I was almost to tears. Not that this book is sad but instead heart-warming. It teaches the importance of a true friend and how true friends care about you even if it doesn't seem like it. True friends push you to your breaking point but even then, they push you past it in a way you never thought was possible. I thought this book was heart-warming, fun to read, and encouraging. I thought it was encouraging because it taught the reader that you can achieve anything if only you try. I suggest this book if you are looking for self-confidence, if you like babysitting, and if you like reading about friendships. Happy reading!

The mouse and his child are two windup mice. Once, they danced in a circle every Christmas, but now, their fur is falling off, their pants are torn, and the only thing they can do is walk straight. The two mice have to evade Manny Rat, who's obsessed with smashing the mouse and his child for making a fool of him. The problem is, the two mice need to be wound up to walk. Will they escape Manny Rat and fulfill their ambition of becoming self-winding? And will they be reunited with their old friends? Or will they be smashed? The book was funny and exciting, and the illustrations were excellent! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading humorous books about animals.
