Gone

Gone

By Michael Grant

Gone is the first book in the 6-part Gone series by Michael Grant. The book (and the series) is about a town where one day, every person over the age of 15 just disappears one day. After this, the children in the town are in what they call the FAYZ (Fallout Alley Youth Zone), with walls surrounding them. Eventually, some of the kids start developing mutations, such as running very fast, or burning people. All of this leads to a lot of havoc in the town, which is explored in this book and the rest of the series. I feel that this book has good points and bad points. This book is well written, has interesting characters, and detailed descriptions. However, it also contains many boring sections and some powers seem a bit cliche. Overall, Gone is a decent book with some interesting parts. I give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars from me. I recommend this book anyone from the ages of 12 and up (However, if you want to read the other books, I feel that you should be at least 14 years old.)

The Penderwicks in Spring

By Jeanne Birdsall

In this chapter of the Penderwicks lives, Batty is now 10, Ben is 7, Rosy has gone away to college, and their is even a new sister: Lydia!! With all of the kids to take care of, the family is a bit short on money. Batty really wants voice lessons, but she decides it is time for her to start working and earning her own money. She starts asking her neighbors if they need help, but all they want is someone to walk their dogs. This is hard for Batty because her favorite family dog had passed away, but she takes the job anyway. Then she hears her sister talking about how it is her fault their mother died, and Batty is wracked with guilt. She stays in her bed and doesn't go to school for a long time. Her family is very worried about her, but they finally figure out what happened and explain that it is not her fault. Also, Tommy and Rosy get back together!! I love these books!!

The Penderwicks at Last

The Penderwicks at Last

By Jeanne Birdsall

This was the perfect ending to the perfect series!! The Penderwicks are funny, smart, sporty, and above all, loving. These have something for everyone. They taught me lots of things. Rosalind taught me to be selfless and caring. Skye taught me to speak your mind and NEVER compromise. Jane taught me to be whimsical and to learn from your mistakes. Batty taught me to be true to yourself, no matter who you are. Ben taught me to follow your heart, even when it points you in odd directions. Lydia taught me never to walk when you can dance. I will never tire of them. Ever. It broke my heart when it ended, even if it DID end well... - sirireads

The Penderwicks at Point Mouette

The Penderwicks at Point Mouette

By Jeanne Birdsall

I really liked this book! In this book, the new Penderwick family is being split up for the first time. Batty, Jane, and Skye are heading to Point Mouette with Jeffery and thier Aunt, and Rosy is going to New Jersey with her best friend Anna. Mr. Penderwick, Isnatha, and Ben are heading to England for a business trip. Skye is going to be the OAP, and she's nervous. Plus, an unexpected discovery is made, and Skye isn't sure what to do, especially when Aunt Claire sprains her ankle. Will they survive without Rosy? Read the book to find out! I gave this book 5 stars! Happy Reading!

Amazing. You really get to see Warner's true character. Emotionally challenging, and very intense, this is the book to read.

Gregor and the Code of Claw (Underland Chronicles, Book 5)

Gregor and the Code of Claw (Underland Chronicles, Book 5)

By Suzanne Collins

The last book of this epic series ends with a bang, since everything in the past 4 books has been leading up to this! Collins ends this bittersweet book with a goodbye Gregor will never forget. It is an amazing series! I don't recommend this to any romantic haters.
