Ben 10 Alien Force: The Dark of Knight
By Scholastic
The ben10 book takes you on many kinds of adventures of excitement.
The Canterville Ghost (minedition Classic)
By Oscar Wilde
The ghost has chains that he rattles at night BUT he's frustrated and funny too. I would prefer this book to many others because it made me think about what other things might be out there in our every day stuff. It made me feel sad, happy and finally relieved.
Fledge Star (Glitterwings Academy)
By Titania Woods
This book teaches you about friendship and to never stop trying. I recommend this book because its a fun action packed book about a fun high-flying game called Fledge!
Everland
By Wendy Spinale
“To die will be an awfully big adventure.” this is a quote from the book “Everland” by Wendy Spinale. This book has no specific time period and it is set in England. Imagine if England was bombed by Germany releasing a deadly virus called the Horologia Virus killing 99% of the adults and 97% of girls. Leaving London in ruin and ruled by Captain Hanz Otto Oswald Kretschmer or for short H.O.O.K. (the antagonist). In this book Gwen (the protagonist) a 15 year old girl is trying to take care of her little brother Mikey and her little sister Joanna after her dad died in the bombings and her mom disappeared, when suddenly her sister is kidnapped by H.O.O.K and his men. On her journey to save her sister she meets Pete a 16 year old boy and Bella a 12 year old girl who introduces her to the Lost Boys. Pete and Bella organise a team to help Gwen rescue her sister but when a sudden death of a lost boy almost sabotages the mission, and Hook finds out that Gwen is immune to the virus and starts to hunt her and her team their plan may be compromised. Will Gwen save her sister in time or will Joanna be gone forever. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves action, adventure, and fantasy because throughout this book there is a lot of exploring and fighting and it has a resemblance to the story “Peter Pan” Warning- this book has mature content and may be unsuitable for children under seventh grade.

A Shadow Bright and Burning (Kingdom on Fire, Book One)
By Jessica Cluess
Henrietta Howel has lots to figure out as a person. She has mystical fire powers. Where did they come from and why? Suddenly she and her best friend Rook are whisked away to a sorcerer society where they claim she is the one to save them from the Ancients. The Ancients are ruthless monsters who destroy everything in their path. She begins training with a group of of 5 boys and finds some new friendships. She struggles in the beginning, too much for her taste, so she goes to see a magician. Something that is wildly frowned upon. Turns out she is not, in fact a sorcerer but a magician. After she realizes this, has to lie to her friends so that she can be accepted in the Order. She eventually achieves sorcerer-hood and defeats one of the Ancients. Personally, I really wanted to like this book but I found that it was very fast. It did not provide many descriptions in any setting and it did not explain much of the complicated plot. I like complex stories but it was very hard to figure out the actual backstory. Also many characters secrets were mentioned quite a few times in key moments but I kept having to refer back to the page where it was described. The secrets weren't very memorable and each character had their own which made it hard to decipher what secret they were referencing. Relating to the characters, I thought they were way too much like the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare (great series btw). The characters had most of the same struggles. Their relationships were similar. At first you don't notice it, but as the book progresses you see it. This book had a great plot but if you are looking for some other interesting books like this I suggest all of Cassandra Clare's teen fiction.
