Kids Books - Science Fiction

This book is absoloutly incredible!! I will try not to include too many spoilers in the summary but there will be some small ones. The war between the Lords Of Prey and the rabbits of Natalia is beggining. After Picket saved prince Smalls from near death, the Longtreaders are no longer known as traitors, but heros. Picket is now a worrier and Heather is a skilled doctor. Suddenly, a report comes saying Picket and Heather's parents and little brother, who where thought to have lost their lives, now have a possibility of being alive. This also means they are slaves and a possibly at a mine. Picket soon becomes consumed with trying to find his family and goes on expaditions with Smalls to try to find them. At the same time Smalls is supposed to become king of Natalia. Picket tempts Smalls into trying to find his family on his way to Kingston to be crowned king and Smalls agrees, though it could be extremely dangerous. After Smalls leaves they are hit with attacks. Heather suddenly becomes loaded with work to do as a doctor. Durring the fight, they meet Kyle once again- and his father. They bring help and turn the battle in their favor. It turns out the country Kyle constantly talked about isn't a myth at all, but it is real. Along with the appearence of Kyle (also known as "Kylen") and his father comes some rules they have come up with, some Heather doesn't compleatly agree with concerning the Green Ember. Another battle arises and Heather and Emma find they have been betrayed. Durring the battle tragety strikes when Picket and Heather recive terrible news from their uncle Wilfred. The battle is going down hill with their plans being demolished. Could this be the end of the Green Ember? Will Natalia be ruled by the Lords of Prey or traitors? I hope this review helps and you enjoy this book as much as I have!

The book the Magic School bus space EXPLORERS is a very good book because the book has everything i like,like zooming through space having a robot right by you.

Amazing book! I wouldn't call it a horror novel (as said in the description^)... it just has elements of Gothic fiction in it since it takes place in the late 1800s and follows real, actual events that happened in history. For context, Jack the Ripper (also known as the Leather Apron and the Whitechapel Murderer) was an unidentified murderer (he was never caught) known for killing women in London in 1888. The book is mainly a mystery where Audrey Rose Wadsworth, who studies forensics under her uncle, and her uncle's (very) clever student, Thomas Cresswell, are present during the time the murders start and have to use their knowledge and clues from the murders that keep happening to find out who Jack the Ripper is. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and the 3 other books in the series, so if you enjoy this one, I highly recommend finishing the others, which are also based on historical murders. I'm not a huge mystery person, but this series grabbed my attention with its many plot twists and anticipation of finding out the murderer at the end of each book. It's pretty difficult to guess the murderer correctly because the author is so clever at making her readers never even suspect the actual culprit! Happy reading!

This book was one of the most amazing book I have read. Essentially, what it is about is that the main character, Matt, is a clone. He barely knew anything about other humans until he met his creator. Now he has a lot of power until something tragic happens. Read on to find out what happened because no spoilers! But like any book, it is not perfect. It has many time skips, with some of the major ones being 4 to 6 years. It is better than it is bad though. This book is action-packed and has many good cliff hangers that make you never want to stop reading. Its also a unique plot, not like one I've ever seen.

This is my favorite book series EVER! I really wish they'd make a movie of the books. (Not anyone but Universal, otherwise they'd mutilate it) It has betrayal, battles, war, queens, friendship, romance, action, jokes, Hunger Games-style arena warfare, prophecies, secrets, and characters you love (Hello, DoD, and you too, Jade Winglet. Also Darkstalker, Deathbringer, and Riptide. 'Cuz they're too awesome) and characters you'll hate. (coughcough Scarlet, Morrowseer, Blister, and Burn cough) I can not believe that Warriors is more popular than this. I mean, Warriors is okay, but it kind of "lost the magic," by the time the second series rolled around. This one is still going strong. And it has DRAGONS! Not to mention, when I reread Warriors, I thought "I read this in the second grade?" (When I was in 2nd grade, I was OBSESSED with Warriors. I don't really recall why.) Long story short: 2nd grade. Bedtime. Couldn't get to sleep. Pulled out A Dangerous Path. Mom made a 'no Warriors at bedtime' rule after that. (What? Those dogs were scary as heck.) Now, this does have some violence. (Mostly in the first book, because, hey, when much of the plot revolves around an arena where dragons fight to the death, not everyone's gonna make it out alive) But unlike Warriors, you usually won't be lying awake at night because you're afraid to go to sleep. (Though I did have a couple of nightmares about these once.) All in all, this series is five stars out of five!!!!! (For age rating, I would read this to a MATURE 3rd grader and up. Don't read it to younger kids unless you know them well and they are very hardy. I mean, like, 2nd grade. Don't read these to kindergartners. They probably wouldn't get it anyway.)

For those of you who like comic books, this book has both comic strips and normal text. Victor Starspeeder is starting his second year of middle school at Jedi Academy. Victor really wanted to get the lead role in his school's musical, but a new kid who seems better at everything gets the lead. To make things worse, Victor oversleeps (which means he's always late), the flight simulator makes him through up, and rumors are going around about his older sister, Christina, turning to the dark side. When Victor spies on Christina, he sees her getting along with a Sith. Eventually, Victor becomes friends with the new kid and he stops throwing up in the flight simulator! Fortunately for the musical, Victor designs an awesome monster costume, which makes the musical a huge hit. And it turns out that Christina wasn't turning to the dark side, but instead a hero. I recommend this book to all the Star Wars fans out there!

Yesterday I read Silverbell. It talks about a girl named Jill Pole to rescue a long lost prince. The prince’s father is sad because there’s no prince to become king after him. The girl travels through an underground world called The Land Of Bism where gnomes roam, eating diamonds.Gnomes are critters like humans, but have a hundred toes. My favorite part is when she gets to the house of the ManChomping Giants, giants who eat men for dinner. First, some lazy men were sleeping nearby. Jill picks the men up and tosses them into the ManChomping Giants’ house. The giants’ house was a big stone fortress, but it had windows on the floor. That part was the funny bit. Then, the girl goes to the Land Of The White Witch, and finds the prince by breaking the witch’s spell. They broke the spell by breaking a silver bell. Finally, they must battle the witch. That part was the scary bit. The moral of the story is to keep trying, even when things look hopeless. I like the story because they had a grand party at the end. If you want to see if they beat the witch, read the story!!!

Milo is a boy who doesn't like thinking. Then, one day he finds a mysterious package in the apartment. When he assembles it, he finds out that it's a tollbooth! When he drives his car through it, he gets transported to a very strange place. There, you can sell words and eat letters! Soon, he meets Tock, the watchdog who's. part watch, and the Humbug. Milo agrees to go on a quest to get the princesses of Rhyme and Reason back to the Kingdom of Wisdom, which has been suffering in their absence. But their castle is at the top of a mountain full of demons! How will Milo get to them? I liked this book because it was really witty, and the Humbug was especially funny. But how does Milo know how to drive?

Welcome to the world of Egyptian mythology and Magic! If you've read the books in the "Kane Chronicles Series" then you will absolutely love this book. This book has many more stories with the one and only Carter & Sadie! There's also really cool Quizes and puzzles - so hopefully you made sure Really paid attention to the little details in the series! There's also list of people - like the magicans!- Glyphs and spells, A Hieroglyph Key and a glossary so you don't feel confused. I would like to thank DOGOBooks for giving me this amazing book in the summer reading program, I really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend to Egyptian mythology fans! I love this book!! I gotta admit, I was NOT impressed that Sophie and Fitz drifted away from their romantic relationship at the end, but Shannon Messenger did such a good job writing this that I found myself blaming Sophie & Fitz, not her!!! This was a truly incredible book. It went the same as the others in the series, in the sense that all that happened was planning sneak attacks on the Neverseen, the Neverseen getting away, Sophie blaming herself, planning another sneak attack, etc. But honestly, that doesn't make me like the book less. The characters are introduced so well that I really felt like I was in the book (I know, everyone says that, but honestly this series was one of the only ones that I ACTUALLY felt like that) and the way that Sophie & Fitz interact, the way we all know Keefe looks at Sophie, and even Dex and Biana (yes, I caught that!! Love it!!) seems almost like a stereotypical teenage life, except it's not. I can't explain it, but it is so unique and heartwarming that I could not put the book down. I feel bad for her, but I don't blame Sophie for not keeping up with Fitz. She has SO MANY other things going on, but they are a good couple because even though Sophie feels bad about it, Fitz understands. He is there for her as much as possible, whether it's for a shoulder to lean on or somebody to yell at. I am pretty bummed that she was unmatchable, and that Fitz doesn't understand why she won't continue the search for he biological dad. It's also pretty upsetting that she told Keefe first, and not her boyfriend... especially knowing that Keefe had way more going on with his parents and the Neverseen than Fitz did and she still chose to lean on him when she found out. I am so excited to see what book 8.5 will bring!! It's coming out next week!!! I'll be cheering for Fitzphie no matter what happens!!!
