Flora and Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures
By Kate DiCamillo
I read this book for school, because I needed to read some Newberry Medal Winners. That was one of the best assignments I've ever had and I'm here to tell you why. Sometimes you just wish you could read a comic book while you're reading a normal book, and when you switch you want a normal book. This book solves the problem. It's both. And then, there are also the lovable characters. There's Mrs. Tickham, Flora's neighbor, who gets a vacuum for her birthday and- well, that's another story. And there's Flora's mom, the author who writes romance novels. There's Flora's dad, a very safe driver that lives in fear of a landlord's cat. There's William Spiver, Mrs. Tickham's great-nephew, who randomly shoots out weird quotes. There's my favorite character, Ulysses, who (Things are about to get weird) gets run over by a vacuum cleaner and turns into a superhero (A flying, typing superhero to be specific) There's Flora, the Incandesto-obsessed cynic (Don't ask me what that means) who saves the life of Ulysses after he gets run over by the vaccuum cleaner. If you read this book you'll understand why it's a Newberry Medal Winner.
Drama
By Raina Telgemeier
Callie has a passion for theater. Even though she lacks singing skills and can't audition for her middle school's production of Moon over Mississippi, she's found her place as the set designer for the drama department's stage crew. Determined to create a Broadway-worthy set on a limited budget, she faces challenges such as her limited carpentry knowledge, declining ticket sales, and crew members struggling to collaborate. As if that's not enough, she also has to navigate the drama that unfolds both on and offstage once the actors are chosen. And to add to the chaos, two charming brothers enter the picture, making things even more complicated! What would happen next to Callie? Happy reading! ~ Victoria Ella
Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Popular Party Girl
By Rachel Renée Russell
Dork Diaries Tales From a Not-So-Popular Party Girl is written by Rachel Renée Russell. I would recommend this book to the people that aren't popular at school or doesn't have a lot of friends because this book tells us to be confident and believe in yourself, don't be ashamed of yourself. I really like this book because McKenzie always tries to humiliate Nikki but it never works, in the end, Nikki always fixes everything and McKenzie would be very angry all the time. I think that McKenzie is jealous about Nikki because Brandon always talks to her. And when McKenzie asked Brandon to be her date, Brandon said no to her. The thing that made me really mad is that McKenzie canceled the Halloween Dance just because Brandon didn't agree to be her date ,instead, Brandon asked Nikki to be his date. Also, McKenzie purposely told her aunt that Nikki is very good at drawing and that she can help the little kid to draw their faces, and she bought Nikki a rat costume that was really stinky and dirty. But I'm really happy that Nikki cares about her friends so much that she didn't tell them the truth because she didn't want to hurt their hearts after what they saw their crushes did. And she also didn't tell Brandon that she was supposed to spend the night with her friends, Chloe and Zoey. But because she wanted to satisfy everyone at the same time, she had to run three places and change into three different costumes at the same time. Also, she had to make sure that non of them saw her at the same time. I found out that evil people never wins and kind people always has a happy ending. And I wish everyone could be like Nikki and have a happy ending like her's. I wish that no one would be like McKenzie, treating others badly and trying to humiliate other people that she doesn't like and acting all innocent.
Sisters
By Raina Telgemeier
I love this book out of all I think that this book is my 2nd favorite book. I love that there are flashbacks, I think it's really cool that it tells you the past that connects to the future. I also love that it shows that sisters never get along all the time. It also shows that even if sisters usually disagree they can always come to an understanding sooner or later. I think that this a great book and I love all her books. I love the art style. In conclusion I give this book a 5 stars.

Unicorn vs. Goblins (Phoebe and Her Unicorn Series Book 3): Another Phoebe and Her Unicorn Adventure
By Dana Simpson
I am not the biggest fan of unicorns (no offense to unicorn lovers.) But when I get bored I like to read random books and this book it wasn't like most where they get along and everyone is surprised there is fantasy creature around but both of the main characters make fun of each other in a good way. Sometimes I will actually laugh. There's also the "Shield Of Boringness" and that's why not many people are surprised. I absolutely recommend this for younger age groups or just anyone who likes fantasy and unicorns. I also finished it just today and wrote a review on it almost right away. If you have an Amazon kids tablet you can download and read it)) Read on my friends!!!!
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
By J.K. Rowling
How do you think it would feel to be the only one to stop a being of pure evil? In the book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling. The protagonist is Harry Potter a teenage wizard boy who lives with his aunt and uncle. They treat him like he doesn’t even exist and his room is a cupboard under the stairs. The reason he lives with these horrible people is because his parents died at the hand of the antagonist Voldemort the greatest evil in the wizarding world. I find the book very interesting and descriptive. The author did a very well job making this book and this series in general. There are parts that made me quite sad as important things went on. Such as how someone very dear to Harry died right in front of him or how he has to struggle through having a very mean and evil teacher controlling Hogwarts. There are a lot of twists and times where you don’t know what to expect. J.K. Rowling created pure perfection in a paper back cover that will most likely live on and entertain many generations to come and withstand the test of time. Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix was a very thick book with eight hundred seventy pages and definitely not the last nor biggest book in the series. So far this book is my favorite and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great and long read. I believe J.K. Rowling did a amazing job in describing areas, characters and magical creatures in the book and the whole series. I also believe that this is straight from the heart and mind of the author and will inspire many whether it be adult or child to pursue their dreams and to never give up on what they believe in. The characters are all filled with such description from the way they speak to their dreams that they wish to come true. When you first introduced to characters you get a description of what their wearing, what they look like and how they seem to appear in stater. The ending was both wrapped up well and made me want to read more from the other books. I know I will feel sad when I finish the last two books, but I will feel happy to have read these books. I suggest this book to someone between the ages of 7 to adult because this book has odd words some people may not be able to pronounce.
