The Emperor's Code (The 39 Clues, Book 8)

The Emperor's Code (The 39 Clues, Book 8)

By Gordon Korman

Have you ever wanted to be a detective when you were younger? This book is exactly what you're looking for. This book has mysteries, clues, investigations and so many more things. There's even a card game about this book! This book series is called The 39 Clues to the Emperor's code. The author is Gordon Korman. This is the 8th book. The book focuses on the two main characters which are brother and sister. The brother and sister have many adventures going to ancient temples, ruins, caves and so many more! But that's not all they travel to many parts of the world that you might now even think of. During their adventures to places they meet great characters that might be seen in the future of the books. They also meet great villains or people that are against them. The story consists of physical and mental battles that you have never seen before. I think this book has a great story and really shows how a character feels. The book really explains different things very thoroughly so that it's a little easier to understand. But what this book can improve is the physical understanding. I said that the book very nicely explains things thoroughly, but I meant in explaining lets say an object and what it's able to do. On the other hand when something like a fight is happening they don't really explain enough details to know that this fight is a fight to be remembered. I think that for all the people that might like mysteries and adventures this is the one for you. If you love exploration this is also a perfect pick of something you might like because of how they go to different places. If you like action you might like this book a little less just because the intense moments are not the best moments. But overall I think this book is great but also something about this book is that I haven't read the first or anything after, so some things were confusing so although this is very interesting i highly recommend getting the first one or anything before.

Vespers Rising (The 39 Clues, Book 11)

Vespers Rising (The 39 Clues, Book 11)

By Rick Riordan, Peter Lerangis, Gordon Korman, Jude Watson

So the book was very interesting and it caught my attention because of its name. If it had another name I wouldn't choose it because 39 clues is an interesting name. And also in the back of the book it had a summary of the book which was interesting. (THE 39 CLUES) The book number is 39 because of the amount of series there are. And the author is Rick Ridordan, an American author. He is known for writing the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, about a teenager named Percy Jackson who discovers he is a son of the Greek god Poseidon. Riordan's books have been translated into forty-two languages and sold more than thirty million copies in the US. His books have spawned related media, such as graphic novels and short story collections. And also there are more authors like peter lerangis, gordon korman, and finally jude watson. The book is about a Fourteen-year-old Amy Cahill and her younger brother Dan who thought they could return to their regular lives when they found the 39 clues. But the Vespers, powerful enemies, will stop at nothing to get the clues. And with the Vespers rising, the world is in jeopardy. The book is good because it gives a lot of detail and fun. And it is important to read the book because it has a lot of facts for 12/13 year olds and the events in the story compared to real life are similar. I enjoyed reading the book because it is interesting and also has 238 pages and I finished reading it in 21 days. I recommend you to read it because it is a good book. The book 39 CLUES VESPERS RISING is a good option for people my age 12/13 years old because it has a good amount of pages and is interesting. Also, the language is simple for anyone to read without using a dictionary or google to search for difficult words. I recommend you to read it because it is very interesting.

In Too Deep (The 39 Clues, Book 6)

In Too Deep (The 39 Clues, Book 6)

By Jude Watson

Have you ever looked for a clue but while battling others? Amy and her brother Dan are in Sydney in the beginning of the book and instantly they are faced by an enemy and that changes the book forever. The book is called the 39 Clues : IN TOO DEEP this is pretty ironic because they realize later in the book they realize what big of a bad situation they have got themselves into. The authorโ€™s name is Jude Watson and this is so funny because her real name is Judy Blundell. This book is in a series and this specific book is number 6. I don't think it would be necessary to read the books before this because I didn't and I understood everything but I think it would be nice just because then you would have more of an idea of characterization and the build up of personality. The book is basically about Dan and Amy following their parents footsteps and joining in for the chase of the 39 clues. Why, you may ask? Well they were offered a lot of money, or a chase for clues that would give them way more. During the journey they meet some interesting families that are also in the chase. They also meet family members in desperate times of help but little do they know they might be evil. They face deadly challenges and competitors that drive them to find every single clue. During the series they are dragged to many different countries to find different clues but in this book they are in Australia which makes them try new things and their enemies have tricks coming from ancestors with a different culture. This book is very good. I really like it because it keeps the reader engaged at all times. I feel like the reader could have made the characters themselves more interesting instead of the situation because in most parts of the book the situations are so engaging and sometimes even scary which I find great but it would be nicer to have some of those genres and traits in the characters rather than everything around them. But in general I feel like this book has a good hook and climax and it really makes me feel like I am in the scene. This is really good because it makes me imagine and I can dream and dream about what can happen here and there. It is fun to read and I could never get tired of this book because it just is so exciting and different. Overall, I really like this book and I'm pretty sure anyone that likes to read books that have crazy plot twists will really enjoy this book. I feel like this book has a lot of different genres and themes.

The Story of Doctor Dolittle (Random House Modern Classics)

The Story of Doctor Dolittle (Random House Modern Classics)

By Hugh Lofting

The Story of Doctor Dolittle, by Hugh Lofting, teaches about tolerance. Dr. Dollitle is a doctor who can speak animal languages and loves animals, but he has so many animals that his sister left and he became poor. He didnโ€™t mind, though, because he still had his animals. After some time, a swallow came and told the doctor that he needed to cure some monkeys in africa. He didnโ€™t have enough money, but he borrowed a boat and supplies from people who knew that he was a good doctor. After a while, he cured the monkeys and went back home. The animals also showed him the pushmi-pullyu, an animal which has two heads. He earned enough money showing people it that he had enough for a while. I recommend this classical book for boys and girls, grades third to sixth.

It's so bad. I think I would rather watch the Duck Tales show than read the books.๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก

Frozen: The Junior Novelization

Frozen: The Junior Novelization

By RH / Disney

It is good because it is sad and happy. I read the book before I watched the movie and I am glad I did because I knew that even though it was sad that it was going to be good at the end. I read this book to my little sister a lot.

The Son Of Neptune (The Heroes of Olympus, Book 2)

The Son Of Neptune (The Heroes of Olympus, Book 2)

By Rick Riordan

Letโ€™s go Percy, letโ€™s go! Letโ€™s go Percy, letโ€™s go! Letโ€™s go--, hello Percy! Ah, The Son of Neptune, Iโ€™ve been waitingโ€ฆ The Son of Neptune is the second novel in the Heroes of Olympus series. Iโ€™ve read (and enjoyed) the first book, The Lost Hero. (By the way, my review of The Lost Hero is up and running on DogoBooks. Go check it out!) But, we are here to discuss the second novel, so The Lost Hero, get lost again. ***CHARACTERS*** The three main characters in the book are Percy, Frank, and Hazel. One is a kid who forgot his memory, second is a kid who *SPOILER* can turn into animals, and lastly is a girl who *SPOILER* came back from the dead. Wondering how they are best friends? Trust me, I donโ€™t know either. But I love them all the same. PERCY- Was a character that I felt bad for. Imagine forgetting who you are and left without a clue for (I think) eight to nine months. But Percy was a well-written character. He made me laugh and cry the whole timeโ€ฆ FRANK- Was hilarious! Frank just summed up my entire life with his clumsiness. He is so funny and sweet, and a really great character. His backstory is so interesting and sad that I couldnโ€™t put done the book with Frankโ€™s chapter. HAZEL- Was so sweet. Her life is so interesting. Hazel was a fragile character deep inside. She had secrets and memories that made her happy. She held on to them even though she lived a horrible (past) life. Oh! I was really happy when *SPOILER* Thanatos (or Pluto) let her live. Thank god(s) that she was allowed to proceed to her new life. That made me very relaxed. ***SETTING*** Camp Jupiter was a really interesting place. Not only did I have to adjust from Camp Half-Blood to Camp Jupiter, but I had to also look up different gods and goddesses that were new to me in Roman form. In conclusion, I loved this book. It was fast paced with action and plot-twists that I couldnโ€™t just stop reading. Five stars from me!

The Life As We Knew It Collection (Life As We Knew It Series)

The Life As We Knew It Collection (Life As We Knew It Series)

By Susan Beth Pfeffer

This is a very good book that conjures up an extreme situation in which the moon is knocked closer to the earth. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to spend hours reading at the edge of you seat!

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of Ages

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of Ages

By Trenton Lee Stewart

Mm, this book is pretty okay I guess... It is different than the first trio of books . I could not really keep up with it. My friend loves it, but I am not certain. Everyone is so different, Tai Li randomly shows up, and devastatingly, CONSTANCE CONTRAIRE PRACTICALLY GAVE UP RHYMING SPONTANEOUSLY!๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ Also, the plot is hard to follow and I was sad since Violet Hopefield didn't show up in the book. Some parts are good, like when Constance yelled at Reynie and everyone. That was good. I wish I could do that to my sort of friend, who loves this book. But overall, the plot is less clever, TLS has lost a bit of his usual sparkle, and why on earth does Constance not make any epic poems? I loved those! Overall, there are clever plot turns but I couldn't keep up with it. It's like a tidal wave of new characters knocked me over. I do like how the author included each character's personal thoughts, but Tai seems like a minor character. 3 1/2 stars.๐Ÿ™ƒ
