The League of Unexceptional Children
By Gitty Daneshvari
In this sequel to The League of Unexceptional Children, Jonathan and Shelley are just recovering from their previous mission. Then they are sent to the the United Kingdom to help the Prime Minister. One of their agents, Nina, has gone rogue and stolen a valuable serum, that addles the brain. It makes the person lose IQ points, and makes them extremely confused. It is Jonathan and Shelley's job to retrieve the potion, which they have been told Nina is going to use on government officials in order to sway their vote against a decision that will harm the environment. When Jonathan and Shelley first begin, it seems like Nina is ruthless and do whatever it takes(including kill) to save herself and the serum. But then Jonathan and Shelley begin to investigate...and things don't quite match up. Is Nina the villain? Or is someone else to blame? I really liked the concept of this book. There are a lot of stories out there today about kids who have superpowers, or are very intelligent. This is a book that literally praises the lack of unique qualities. I liked that this book had a mixture of elements of adventure and mystery. I recommend this book to elementary kids. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Firefight (The Reckoners)
By Brandon Sanderson
For me, this series was a potato in a minefield. If you'd read Firefight, the second book in Brandon Sanderson's The Reckoners Trilogy, you'd know what I was talking about. When I first read Steelheart, the first book in the series, it was because I had lost a bet with my brother. Now, they're some of my favorite books ever. Firefight is the sequel to Steelheart. Both books take place in a dystopian America that is dominated by Epics, people who have amazing, superhero-like powers that corrupt them and turn them evil. In Steelheart, David, the bad-metaphored, Epic-hating protagonist, joined a group of Epic assassins known as the Reckoners in order to slay Steelheart, the Epic who ruled David's town of Newcago (Chicago) and killed David's father. In the second book, Firefight, David and the Reckoners are also out to kill an Epic--this time Regalia, ruler of Babalon Restored (New York). In New York, a new cast of characters meets David, the Reckoner Tia, and Prof, the leader and founder of the Reckoners who is secretly and Epic, and is struggling not to use his corrupting powers and keep his evil at bay. They help a squad of New York Reckoners: the tough, serious Val, the strange Exel, and happy, perky, goofy Mizzy. David also reunites with Megan, the sly, very attractive Epic who was a spy for Steelheart in the first book. David must do several things at once: plot to kill the Epic Regalia with the Reckoners, help Prof keep his Epic powers from overcoming him, keep an eye on Oblivion, an Epic who has the power to wipe out Babalon Restored in a single blast, and meet with Megan without the Reckoners knowing, all of whom think of her as an evil murderer. To make matters more complicated, a larger mystery is at hand. Humans first started becoming Epics when a large, red star called Calamity appeared over the world. David wants to solve the mystery as to how Epics get their powers and weaknesses and what Calamity has to do with it, not to mention what Calamity is. By the end of the book, David and the reader will be closer to solving the mystery, but still not completely there. The reader will have to wait until the spring of 2016, when the third book, Calamity, comes out. This book has high-action and a complicated, enthralling plotline. It has lived up to its predecessor, Steelheart, and will leave the reader just as interested and thrilled. I like this book because it has almost everything you could ask for in an interesting story: action, plot, humor, unique characters, romance, and an incredible stare-at-the-book-with-your-mouth-hanging-open twist ending. I would recommend Firefight to anyone who likes action-filled or humorous books, and has read Steelheart.. Most kids would definitely enjoy reading Steelheart, Firefight, and (in spring of 2016), Calamity.
Rebels of the Lamp, Book 1 Rebels of the Lamp
By Peter Speakman, Michael M. B. Galvin
I guess having a genie isn't that great. Parker Quarry is having a blast with a genie he released from an ancient canister. But what he doesn't know is that might have accidentally started a war that was never supposed to happen. Now Parker, Theo (his cousin) and Reese (a really smart girl at school) have to stop a millennia-old battle of a battle ready genie from restarting a war that has all of the humanity in its crosshairs.
Slaves of Socorro (The Brotherband Chronicles)
By John A. Flanagan
This book is filled with tales of adventure as young Hal and his crew of Vikings sail the seas and meet a character from John Flanagan's other series, rangers apprentice.
The Ruby Moon (Thirteen)
By Trisha Priebe, Jerry B. Jenkins
The Ruby Moon completely lived up to its predecessor "The Glass Castle", the first in the series. After I first read The Glass Castle I couldn't wait to read the sequel! Of course I was horrified when I found out I would have to wait almost a full year til it even came out-not to mention when I would get access to it. So I was thrilled when I received it for my birthday. That very next day I re-read The Glass Castle and finished The Ruby Moon. In the Ruby Moon, Avery along with her friends Tuck, Kate and Kendrick are still in charge of the secret underground society of 13 year olds, all who are in hiding from the king and new queen. But they are in the least expected place-the castle itself. Little does the royal couple know that their castle is pretty much run by the kids. Now that the Olympiads are soon arriving, the stakes become even higher as Avery prepares to run in the race, and kids are disappearing. Fear is in the air. All the while, Avery is discovering who the lost heir to the throne is, and who her mother really was. As the days go on, times become more dangerous. Will the kids be discovered? And who is there real enemy? Who can Avery really trust? Just as in the Glass Castle, this book is filled with many plot twists and turns. You don't know what will happen next! I recommend this book to fantasy lovers of all ages, but especially to pre-teens and teenagers. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The Ruby Moon has joined the ranks of The Glass Castle on my favorites shelf! I am ecstatic to read the next installment in the series! I can't wait!

By Ridley Pearson
This book is about a two young siblings who end up going to a new school. One of the siblings needs to solve these clue's to find their family bible that the new school owns. This book is full of mystery and adventure.
Red Queen (3 Book Series)
By Victoria Aveyard
If you are going to read this series you have to read the whole series, because the endings of the books don't make sense unless you do. They can be agonizing at times and sometimes you will want to put them down, but they are over all a good series.
Stowaways (Return to Titanic)
By Steve Brezenoff
THIS BOOK SERIES IS AMAZING IT IS ALL ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU WENT BACK IN TIME AND TRIED TO SAVE SOMEONE THAT WAS KILLED ON THE TITANIC FROM DYING I THINK THAT ANYONE WHO DOES'NT LOVE THIS SERIES IS ABSOLUTELY CRAZY OR JUST DOES'NT KNOW A GOOD BOOK WHEN THEY SEE ONE.
