not my favorite but was a good story
Shouting at the Rain
By Lynda Mullaly Hunt
Delsie has lived with her Grammy for as long as she can remember. But this summer Delsie feels like she's looking at their life with new eyes, and is questioning why she doesn't have a cool mom and a loving dad to live with, like most of her friends. And while she loves her grandmother, it's often hard to move her off the couch of their Cape Cod home, where she spends hours watching her beloved game shows. Delsie is a keen observer of the weather and notices other changes in the air, too--the most painful being a summer friend who seems to have outgrown her. Fortunately, though, Delsie has fabulous neighbors who are like family--and a special new friend--to help her realize she can weather pretty much any storm that comes her way.
Lynda Mullaly Hunt's compelling new novel, perfect for fans of her classic middle-grade novels One for the Murphys and Fish in a Tree, is an accessible, tender, and nuanced story about learning to love the family you have.

This is my all-time favorite book! Linda Mully Hunt did an amazing job writing/telling this story. The reading level (in my opinion) is 4th-6th grade. I hope you will read this book. This is my favorite book, not only because it is amazing, but because it tells an incredible story you don't want to miss out in. #TeamDelsie
Wosh wosh the waves crashed down on the sandy beach. It was a hot summer day in cape cod. The author of shouting at the rain in Linda Mully Hunt. This book was published in 2019. The book is sad and happy. The ups and downs made me keep reading. It catches your attention on the first page. In shouting at the rain delsie is the main character. She wanted to get her friend back. But her friend had another friend named tressy. She is mean. Delsie tried to do what they did. But it was different. There was a new kid in Cape Cod. So she became friends with him instead . The setting is very nice. I wish I was there myself because it was so beautiful. I could almost hear the sound of the crashing waves. I think the beach is pretty. I think this because when delsie was running I imagined it to be very pretty. Another setting I liked was the neighborhood. I thought that it was cute. I think this because when they described it it seemed to be very likable and cute. Next I thought about the setting of the whole story ( which was in Cape Cod ). I think that it is very pleasant because when I went I thought that The service, places, and things were all pleasant. Another thing I liked was the storm. I think this because it was existing. My opinion of the characters is i think that most of them are polite. I think Delsie is sweet. I think this because she warned people to get off the beach for a major storm. I thought that that was very sweet of her to do that. Tressy is rude. I think this because she put loser on Delsie’s back in sunscreen (it stained her back.). Brandy is grown up. I think this because she got her nails and toes done and got sunglasses. The grandma is generous. I think this because she invites people over for dinner. I recommend this book to people who like longer books. I think this because it is long and catches you attention on the first page. It will make you keep reading. I do not recommend this book to people who like short stories because it is long. This was one of the best books I have ever read. The ups and downs will have you keep reading and reading till your at the end of the book. If you chose to read this book I hope you like it!
Great summery! I LOVE this book!!!
Drip,Boom weather Drip, Boom weather loving Delsi was outside in a loud thunderstorm. This book is called Shouting at the rain. It is written by Lynda Mullay Hunt. It was published in 2019. The author did a really good job writing this book. She put so much evidence and it helped me to understand all the events. It was happy and sad. I loved it! In the story Shouting at the rain there was a girl named Delsi, and she wanted some friends. But when her best friend came to the cape for the summer. (Like she does every summer.) She dumped Delsi for another girl. One day when Delsi was sitting at the picnic tables she saw a boy sneaking around. Then she found him running along the beach the next day. They became friends after a while. The boy's name is Ronan. Now everyone is happy and Ronan moved next door to Delsi. This story's moral tells you to be happy with what you have. Shouting at the rain has a lot of interesting settings, and these are my personal favorites. One setting I like the best is the beach because I love the beach and a lot of cool stuff in the book took place there. Delsi loves a good run along the beach but she does not believe in shoes so one day as she ran along the beach she stepped on a piece of sea glass and did not even notice, until her grandmother saw it and fixed it up for her. Sauce Pan Lynn’s is another favorite. I like this setting a lot because a lot of funny stuff happened there. For example it is a restaurant that Delsi and Ronan went to a lot, and Sauce Pan Lynn told Ronan to flip a crepe. When he did it ended up on the ceiling, which I think is really funny. Here is what I like most about the book. What I like most about the book is when Delsi and her grandmother go to olives house on a stormy day. In the book it said that they went to Olives house to comfort her because she is afraid of storms. So Delsis grandmother hugged Olive telling her that everything is going to be OK! They stayed until the storm was over. Which I think is a really nice thing to do. I loved this book, it had happy and sad parts. I think the author did a very good job writing this story. I recommend this book to older kids because it tells you how you should be happy with what you have, also this book is 49 chapters long. I don’t recommend this book to kids 7 and under because it is very long and they will not understand the moral of the story.
I loved this book it's amazing
I liked this book. Delise lives with her granny, because her mom left her and her dad is dead. She loves storms and doesn't wear shoes. But her friend is being mean, and she has a new friend. Sometimes when the tides turn, you turn with them.
