A thrilling new series soars above the competition and redefines middle-grade fantasy fiction for a new generation!

The seven dragon tribes have been at war for generations, locked in an endless battle over an ancient, lost treasure. A secret movement called the Talons of Peace is determined to bring an end to the fighting, with the help of a prophecy -- a foretelling that calls for great sacrifice.

Five dragonets are collected to fulfill the prophecy, raised in a hidden cave and enlisted, against their will, to end the terrible war.

But not every dragonet wants a destiny. And when the select five escape their underground captors to look for their original homes, what has been unleashed on the dragon world may be far more than the revolutionary planners intended . . .

5 dragonets are chosen to end the terrible war that has been raging for twenty years. Sunny, Starflight, Tsunami, Clay, and Glory. Queen Scarlet, Queen of the SkyWings, before the dragonets are hatched, thinks she has ended the supposed "Dragonet Prophecy" by dropping the SkyWing egg off the side of the cliff. In a frantic search, Webs, a guardian of The Talons of Peace, brings back a RainWing egg to replace the shattered SkyWing egg. The Talons of Peace raise the 5 dragonets under a mountain until they are ready to end the war alone. When they uncover a plot to kill Glory, the spare RainWing, their only hope is too escape. Can they? Or will they become victims of the terrible war like so many other dragons and dragonets before them?

I love this book! I really enjoyed it because it has dragons. Also, I really like clay because he is so nice - and a big eater- like me!!!! I can't wait to read the third book! ( I already read the second one :)

I like fantasy so I have high hopes for this book. After reading the provided summary of the book on this website, it made me want to read it even more. The fact that the book is actually one of the summer reading prizes makes we want to scream with joy!

But then the five decide to escape their underground prison and find their homes. They succeed by are almost immediately captured by an evil queen. But the outside isn't what they expected at all. What will happen to them? Will they save the world?

The wings of fire series is one of the best series I have ever known. I am 100% sure you will like this book like many others.

the reading book was a good dragon book

An interesting book about dragons. It tells a story about dragons hiding as they will try to fulfill their prophecy.I recommend this book for 4th grade and up.

I loved this book it was so well written that I could not stop reading it. I also decided to read the whole series. It had a lot of suspense with twists and turns. It also had a lot of emotion which made this book very well written. I think I am like Tsunami and Gloria combined.

This book series is close to my heart, so close that it is INSIDE! (Not really) One day I go to my school library, and say, "Hmm, Wings of Fire... Looks like a nice book." When I checked it out, I couldn't get my eyes off of it. I need to buy the the whole series for myself! I don't know why, but it reminds me of star wars, but with dragons and more armies! I give this book a 9001/10 for it's story and tone of the book!
