Miles Murphy is not happy to be moving to Yawnee Valley, a sleepy town that’s famous for one thing and one thing only: cows. In his old school, everyone knew him as the town’s best prankster, but Miles quickly discovers that Yawnee Valley already has a prankster, and a great one. If Miles is going to take the title from this mystery kid, he is going to have to raise his game.
It’s prankster against prankster in an epic war of trickery, until the two finally decide to join forces and pull off the biggest prank ever seen: a prank so huge that it would make the members of the International Order of Disorder proud.

I very much enjoyed this book. This book is about a school prankster who is moving to a new school and community. He makes it his goal to become the most famous prankster, but he has some competition. The school already has a mysterious prankster who happens to be very good. He also happens to be the principal's favorite. The two start a prank war. But then the two decide to join forces and pull off the biggest prank in school history! I suggest this book to everybody. Because although the reading level is below mine the plot really peaks your interest. So I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
i have a copy of this book but i cant get around to reading it :( cant wait to finally read it:)
This story is about a boy who is the place called Yawnee valley where he will start a new school year. Miles was his old town's prankster and he wanted to be one here. As Miles approached the school on the first day, he saw that the car had been parked on the school stairs. When the school principal us he was determined to not cancel school to carry the name of his father, grandfather, and great grandfather. in order to get the children into the school, the principal opened the car doors and ordered them into the school. As he walked in the hallway, he saw that this school had a very good prankster. He later discovered that a boy named Niles did the prank of putting the car in front of the school. Soon, they get into a prank war where they try to make better pranks than each other. After a while, they made pranks together like when they filled the school with cows on April fools day. Read to find out how they get on the same side.
A good book. It is about 2 pranksters, the teacher pet goodie two shoes and the new kid, Miles. With cow humor, this book was really funny.
I thought this book was very good. I've read Mac Barnett's previous books and have loved every single one of them. This book is no exception. It is a fun, light read that features an unusual cast of characters. It isn't at all predictable and will leave you guessing until the very end. I absolutely fell in love with Yawnee Valley, the landscape the book was set against, and all of it's people. There are black and white illustrations every few pages or so, and I liked them because it made the books more enjoyable to the reader.
I think girls would like it!The kid miles does a whole lot of pranks. That is so funny!
I think that this book is for a boy to read! I love pranks and all, but had a hard time getting past how immature the main character was :(
There's this boy named Miles. He moves to a new town, therefore, he has to start going to a new school. At his old school, Miles was know as the prankster kid, and he plans for it to be the same at his new school. But he soon discovers that this new school already has a prankster. What I thought of it: Well, I almost did it. I almost got halfway through this book. But then I just couldn't take it anymore. So I put it down, to probably never be picked up again. The writing style wasn't very good. It honestly felt like this book was written for 1st graders. The characters weren't great. Miles annoyed me a decent amount. Which is saying something for a male main character. Was he supposed to be likeable? Because he just seemed like a jerk. Niles was ok. Holly was ok. The principal and his son were... Eh... The dialog felt forced. The illustrations creeped me out. Most of the characters looked just plain gross (especially Miles and the principal) I was honestly being generous giving it 2 stars. Overall, this book had potential, but ultimately failed.
Miles Murphy is a prankster, he moves to Yawnee Valley a town that is famous for its cows. He makes friends with Niles and they start a prank war then they team up and become the terrible 2! My favorite part was when they did their first prank together.
