Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.

The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.

August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.

"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

Wonder is about a boy named Auggie with a facial deformation. He did not go to school all the way through Kindergarten thru 4th Grade, but now he is starting 5th Grade at Beecher Prep. Join Auggie on a funny, loving, and sometimes sob-making story as he tries to show the world just how normal he really is.

This book was so sad but 100% worth reading!!! August was such a strong kid, i for one probably wouldn't have been able to do that. I also loved that it brought up the issue of bullying, and the social aspect of how everybody wants to be popular, but August didn't care about that stupid stuff, he just wanted a friend. I think that that is truly special and something that you don't see in many people. I highly recommend this book to everyone!

The book Wonder is absolutely my favorite book. (right now) It has some important characters. The first one, Auggie or August is a boy with a face that has some features that make it different from everyone else. Augie has been homed schooled by his mother but now has to go too Beecher Prep, a middle school. His sister has a normal face. Her name is Via. (a.k.a Olivia) and she is jealous of the amount of attention Auggie is getting from their parents. when Auggie takes a tour of the school, he meets 2 boys and 1 girl who give him the tour. 1 of the boys named Julian is mean. Jack Will, the other boy is a little freaked out by Auggie's face but them gets used to it and is really nice. Charlotte, the girl is 100% nice and she is not freaked out by Auggie's face. The last character is Summer who sees Auggie at lunch and decides to sit next to him. She even leaves her group of friends to sit with Auggie because she feels bad for him. This was a very fun book to read and I hope you like it as much as I did.
