Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.
The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.
I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.
August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.
"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

I loved reading this book it made me sad but it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is a great book about boy who is very ugly and how he endures teasing from other kids.
i like it
it is a book about a deformed boy who has to face challenges through life. A must read.
I love this book
I read this book in fourth grade and fifth grade and many times more. I personally love this book. It shows how brave Auggie is. Just because his face is not normal, it doesn't that he is any different from other kids. In the book, Auggie has to deal with being a new kid at school and looking different than others. He also had to deal with bullying and sad moments. I like how one day at school, August finally finds a friend, Summer. Even though Summer is popular, she helps Auggie out and doesn't make fun of him. Her friends are all calling both Auggie and herself a freak. The event was heartwarming. Throughout the book, you realize that the events have ups and downs which means that there are sad moments and happy moments for Auggie. After reading this book so many times, I did a little research. The author, R. J. Palacio actually saw a girl(or boy) that looked a lot like Auggie. She was with her children and they were making fun of her or him. I would recommend this book to people who like reading about bravery. I really enjoyed reading this book.
In the book Wonder, a boy named Auggie ( or August) Pullman has to start his very first day in middle school. Its new for Auggie because he's always been homeschooled by his mom. When he started his new school at Beacher Prep, it was rough for him on the first few days. Until Jack Will stood up started to hang out with Auggie. Jack Will stood up to Julian, the meanest kid at Beacher Prep, for August. This book is probably one of the saddest and heart touching story I think you'll read. Leave me a comment down below if you have anything you want to share about August Pullman or the book with me.
Well, Julian isn't that mean in the beginning, but grows to be a bully near the end.
