Wonder is about Auggie Pullman who was born with a facial deformity and is about to go to school for the first time. It is a very uplifting story that had me both laughing and crying at times. I liked the message of the story and think everyone should read it.

Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.
The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.
I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.
August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.
"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

This book is about a kid named August. August has cleft palate and many cranio-facial anomalies. He has been home-schooled until 5th grade when his mom decides to send him to school. This book is about Auggie's journey through school and how he deals with kids bullying in school. I really enjoyed this book because it has some humor but it teaches us that just because someone is different, it does not mean they are not nice. Everyone born of God overcommeth the world
This is a great book and it gives a lot of detail about how a kid might be uncomfortable about their disabilities.

The main thing of this book is that dont be bothered by what other people think about you. August was born with some health problems. His mom homeschooled him and then he does end up going to regular school. People at the school kind of make fun of him until they get to know him. The one kid he thinks is his friend turns out to be his enemy. The one true friend that august has is summer the girl that sat with him at lunch and helps him through his first couple weeks at his new school.
i cant wait for the movie
Its a good book
This book is about August Pullman. He's had a lot of health problems and was born with severe facial abnormalities. He's had twenty seven surgeries and he's only ten! Because of these problems he has been homeschooled his whole life, but he doesn't really have any health problems anymore, so he gets to go to school. There Auggie learns that people can be really mean when they think you're different (as I said before he was born with facial abnormalities), but he also learns the importance of true friends. He knows he can survive the fifth grade with his cool beans friends. Everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their life because we all overcometh the world. -Auggie
Can't wait for the movie!!!
this is my favorite book ever it shows struggles of those kids o laugh at all the time.
I read this book in fourth grade and fifth grade and many times more. I personally love this book. It shows how brave Auggie is. Just because his face is not normal, it doesn't that he is any different from other kids. In the book, Auggie has to deal with being a new kid at school and looking different than others. He also had to deal with bullying and sad moments. I like how one day at school, August finally finds a friend, Summer. Even though Summer is popular, she helps Auggie out and doesn't make fun of him. Her friends are all calling both Auggie and herself a freak. The event was heartwarming. Throughout the book, you realize that the events have ups and downs which means that there are sad moments and happy moments for Auggie. After reading this book so many times, I did a little research. The author, R. J. Palacio actually saw a girl(or boy) that looked a lot like Auggie. She was with her children and they were making fun of her or him. I would recommend this book to people who like reading about bravery.
