Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.

The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.

August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.

"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

He is like everyone else

Wonder is a book about August. August is a boy. But he only has one eye! All he ever wants to do is fit in but joining a new school puts him to the test. Will he fit in and make friends or not???

Unicorn 992, I just wanted to say that August does no have one eye. I thought that to, but then I read the book. It is just the way the author draws it.

he makes some friends not to spill the beans

Wonder, by R. J. Palacio is one of my favorite books. This book showed me what it was like to different outside, but the same 10 year old kid inside. The book left me breathless, the events in the book were like little bubbles of excitement ready to burst! Showing not only the perspectives of Auggie, it also shows you the perspective of the challenges of being a friend and sibling of Auggie is like... trying not to give into peer pressure everyday, and being able to stand up for your friend all the time.

This book wonder has a very meaningful message in it that tells and shows you how to behave around people that do not look like you, talk like you or behave like you do. The book is basically saying choose kindness to the people around you

August (Auggie) Pullman was born with a facial abnormality. The time has come for the bright, ten-year old to leave his safe, nonjudgmental world of being homeschooled, and time to start a new journey. However, this new journey will require the shy boy to face some problems he didn't face when he was in the safe hands of his parents, at home. Starting a new school is both dreadful and fearful for Auggie. But, can Auggie's new peers manage to see Auggie for what he is underneath? Or is he going to regret switching from being homeschooled? I'd recommend this book for any reader, but, specifically readers that like inspiring or uplifting endings.

This is a great book about a child named August who was born deformed and he becomes friends with a few people, but not everyone likes him because of what he looks like even though he's a very nice boy. He wants to quit school. Read the book to find out more.

Its sad, amazing, everything. The wonder movie is coming up, too. Auggie's life isn't exactly great but, he still manages to not care about other people's rude comments

This book is different in the way that it is told from different peoples point of views. It is both equally sad and happy, but the book is very captivating. I loved reading this book and I could connect with each character.

Wonder Wonder

Wonder is just like everyone eles he just needs too think that he is. He has gone through a lot. This is a good book my teacher read me it last year all of you guys should read the book. It is look but good

Much like everyone else... this book touched me. It made me consider times when I may have judged people by their appearance. The book itself is great in that it tells the story by the perspective of each character. I've never read anything like that. Thumbs up all around. Can't wait to watch the movie too.
