Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.

The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.

August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.

"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

The book teaches us that how we treat others is more important than how we look. I loved that different chapters had different peoples point of view. It's a good book because in some way everyone can relate to the characters.

This story teaches us an important lesson:Don't be afraid to try something new and don't judge your looks because it's important to nice in the inside, not the outside.

I really loved this book and how it was so descriptive in all of the words. It has some additional humor and some parts make me want to cry. Some parts make me want to scream in anger. This book has an amazing message that all should be able to read.

Please read this book if you've grown up, are growing up, or plan to grow up. This book made me cry and want to be kind to every single person I've ever met. Not only were people kind to Auggie, but Auggie's patience, resilience, and kindness were so inspiring.

August "Auggie" Pullman is a kid with cleft pallet. When he's twelve he goes to school for the first time. On the tour he goes on, one of the three kids who are asked to be his friend, Julian Albans, is one enemy he makes just because of his face. Soon during lunch one day, Auggie makes a new friend, Summer, who sits with him everyday. After awhile, a so called "war" starts up between Auggie an Julian. Most people join Julian because he has a "normal" face. Some people who are immensly kind to Auggie, like Jack and Summer, decide that looks don't matter and that Julian is being a jerk join Auggie instead. After this "war" is over, people who used to friends with Julian left him and became friends with Auggie instead. Soon the year comes to an end and there is a graduating party. Auggie and all his friends are there. They all have fun and even take a picture to most likely to the memory of frindship.

This book was so moving! I would read it over and over again! The way the author wrote the book, showing all the different point of views was amazing! It really felt s if we were in their shoes.
