Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.

The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.

August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.

"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

This book is about a boy who has a different face.i recommend this book to all people this is such a good book.

Auggie could be described as a regular 11 year old boy. But he was born different his face isn't exactly like everyone Else's face. He's been home schooled most of his life. But he goes to school for 5th grade. He isn't popular. Everyone teases him and calls him "the Freak","Zombie". They even started something called the "Plague". Find out more when you read the book.

the book wonder is an amazing book. How Auggie still went to school even though they were not treating him right. But he has friends like jack and summer. This teaches kids lessons. Do not tease someone.

This book is a perfect example of a "modern classic". A boy named August (aka Auggie) is entering the fifth grade. The only problem is, he has facial deformities. This is a sob-making, history-changing, I-got-in-trouble-for-reading-it-under-the-covers-with-a-flashlight-at-1-AM book. This is not just a book!

This is one of the most sade'st books I've ever read. I read this book in 4th grade and I read it again it's just so sad. It's like he's an outcast at his school and then he's not. I just feel sad for him even though it's not real. Sometimes I feel like him like being lonely, sad and an outcast to everyone including my friends. The beginning is really sad and the end is really great. The only thing I'm trying to say is that this book is really great and I love it.

This book is about a boy named August that was born with a symptom that made him look different from other people. Whenever he went out in the public, everyone would stare at him for a long time. After a while August learned to just ignore them. When August got the big news he had to go to an actual school, he refused. He tried to talk their parents out of it because he thought that people would just make fun of him and stare. The first couple days where pretty rough for him but he made very good friends that made school the best place he has ever been. Wonder is one of my all time favorite book. I rated this book 5 stars because it is so interesting and it teaches you that you shouldn't judge someone by how they look.

This is a beautiful story that shows the hardships in being different and the reward of perseverance. The novel follows August (Auggie) Pullman a boy who was born with facial deformities. he is just like every other boy except that he looks. . .different. He has been home-schooled most of his life and now is starting at Breecher Prep Elementary school, and is a little nervous. He is worried about what the other students will do or say to him because of his face. And right as he starts his first week, he makes friends and enemies as his new life begins at public school. Auggie goes through anything a new kid would at school, and more. There are ups and downs as the boy tries to understand his place in the world. There are beautiful connections through this book as it jumps perspectives and shows different sides of the story. It is amazing how spot on R.J. Palacio got the atmosphere for Breecher Prep and the reader feels in the story along with Auggie and the other characters!

Although this book was sad it was one of the best books I have read. I would sit all day and read it until dinner or bed time. I would recommend this book to anyone. My 4thgrade teacher recommended it to me and I said no but then I started reading it over the summer I and I loved the book.

i agree it is sad but a really good book you described it perfectly.
