Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night after Girl Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth. What follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces, surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached. And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly.

Smile by Raina Telgemeier teaches readers about the normal conflicts that go on in a teenager's life during middle school, starting with dental problems, and friends. The best part about Smile is its graphics, which makes Raina's lively story more relatable.
If Greg Heffley from DOAWK became a female this is him on a girl scouts she tripped and lost her 2 front teeth she had to get headgear, bad braces and even FAKE TEETH. Like Greg she is a middle schooler read the awsome book
This story is kinda like Diary Of A Wimpy Kid all over again a girl lost 2 front teeth has to wear headgear, bad braces, going through a major earthquake, boy trouble its amazing so you should read it
is it just me or does this story kinda remind you of Diary Of A Wimpy Kid
I loved this amazing graphic novel about a girl who had problems with her teeth after an accident. Her story through middle school and orthodontics was touching and fun to read. Great Book!
The book itself was not only good but it sent out a message straight to the heart. I had braces at the time that I read this book and it spoke to me loudly. It sends out a great message to all young girls!
In this book raina gets new braces and moves into high school were she thinks that she might embarrass herself, but it goes mostly well.In the end this is a very good book.
this book was about when this little girl named Raina. Who was running and she fell and then her two front teeth fell out and she had to get braces. that book was awesome.
I love this book! My favorite illustrator Raina Telgemeier's first graphic novel, Smile, is about her own life as a teenager. After racing her friends, she falls and severely damages her teeth. The next few years are filled with dentist appointments, friend troubles, and just regular teenage life. This book reaches out to kids with braces, as it shows many other kids have the same frustrations. Raina's illustrations to this comic book style story is the cherry on top. 5/5 stars!
