Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night after Girl Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth. What follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces, surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached. And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly.

smile is one of the greatest autobiographies ever written! Raina Telgemeier is a great storytelleter, and this story flows so smoothly! Smile shows the hardships of life, through a funny but heartwarming book.
In this book everything starts with a big fall and some teeth problems. In this book many things happen.(including a lot of visits to the dentist.)Some friends are lost, and some friends are made. Many things in Raina's life change and in the end her smile is brand new. I really did love this book and I already did recommend it! My friend read it and now she's in love with the Raina Telgemeier series.

once there was a girl who just wanted to be a normal. when one night he two front teeth get knocked out, and her BIG adventure begins. people, get ready for an amazing book of wonders! Smile!
Smile is a book about the uncomfortable and awkward parts (braces included) of middle and high school. The best part of this book is, when I am reading it, knowing that the author and everyone else has or will go through some of the same situations and struggles. Telgemeier writes about her experience in a lighthearted way that can always manage to make me laugh. Yes, I started reading this book in fourth grade and have read this book several times since. I strongly recommend Smile, along with any other Telgemeier book.
