Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night after Girl Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth. What follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces, surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached. And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly.

I liked this book a lot. I don't read graphic novels much unless I want a quick read. But I would strongly reccomend this graphic novel to you. Please read this book!
this book is awesome
Raina loses her two front teeth at Girl Scouts and has to have lots and lots and lots of wok done to fix her smile. I liked this book but it scared me a little because I have to get braces soon and I think it will hurt a lot. She goes through a lot to get them better- even a earthquake!!!
this is such a fantastice book
Based on Raina Telgemeier's childhood, Raina is just a normal 6th grader until one night as she is racing her friends home after a Girl Guide meeting, she trips and smashes her face into the concrete knocking out her two front teeth. After that everything changes. I recommend this book because the auther gave us a piece of herself in this story and her resilience was incredible.
