Raina Telgemeier's #1 New York Times bestselling, Eisner Award-winning graphic memoir based on her childhood!

Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night after Girl Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth. What follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces, surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached. And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly.

"Smile" is about a girl who trips and falls. She knocks out her two front teeth and has to get fake teeth and braces. Lots of people make fun of her but she finally can take them off. She's so excited!

Smile is a delightfully entertaining and expressive book of the teenage years of Raina Telgemeier. It not only shows the readers about the process of a lifelong journey, but the goals and experiences achieved and learned from it.

This book is very funny and is realistic at the same time. The author is good at expressing emotions and feelings and the fact that it is a graphic novel makes it even better.

A great quick read

I have read this book and I think Raina has been through a lot to be a normal 6th grader. I am going to get braces soon but after reading this book and seeing everything Raina has been through I am much more braver about getting my braces.
