1. The cause of candy is usually the sugar. 2. The scientist used Lactobacillus paracasei to take away some of the sugar, that would normally stick to your teeth and cause a cavity. 3. Their expeirement was to use Lactobacillus paracasei so it could cling to the Streptocci mutans. The expirement worked for the people who ate the gummies with Lactobacillus paracasei.
