Howard is just another typical teenage boy who thinks he is better than everyone else. But wouldn’t he? After all, he is a boy genius. He doesn’t have any friends, and , when an accident happens during a science experiment, he finds himself looking straight into the eyes of his new best friend…a monster named Franklin. Because Howard thinks Franklin is so awesome, he decides to make more monster friends by using the DNA from kids at school. What Howard and Franklin soon find out is that not all monsters are friendly, and he must somehow figure out a way to get rid of all of the monsters. Of course, that won’t be easy. “‘Foreign exchange student? From where? Mars?’ Uncle Ben said, looking at the tail sticking out of the baggy, oversized shorts.” Howard taught me that it’s not okay to think you are better than you probably are, especially if it means you are driving away everyone. Sometimes, it is best to be your true self and to accept others equally. In the end, you will find what true friendship is. The font is this book was so easy to read, and I wish more books would use it. I was so glad to add this book to my bookshelf! (I reviewed this book for City Book Reviews)

This book is about dealing with anxiety and self-esteem. There are a lot of mean of characters in this book and that made this book be rated only three stars. I think Iggy could have learned to handle his problems without a story filled with so much negativity. It also doesn't finish the story and it makes you wait for the next book.

This is a great book for kids like me who worry about everything. It uses emotes to explain how you can work on getting over your fears. I don't think it helped me get over my fears, but the story was really good and the pictures are really cute and it makes sense. I just have a lot of worries is all.

This is the perfect starter chapter book for not only boys, but girls too. Harley Quinn may be on the wrong side of the law, but she definitely makes for an interesting bad girl. After kidnapping Robin with just a simple “KRAK!” of a crowbar, she uses him to get her hands on Batman. After meeting up with the Joker he provides readers with some corny jokes, which are actually funny. “Why can’t a clown’s nose be twelve inches long?” I liked this book because it uses both pictures and words as well as action words like “KRAK!” “THUD!” and “SLAM” which are bigger than the text and colored like you would see in a comic book. You also get to read more about the characters that aren’t usually the main characters like Robin and Harley Quinn. In the back of the book there is a glossary as well as discussion questions and writing prompts so teachers could easily use this book in the classroom which might be a nice way to help struggling readers or just help kids learn to love to read! Why not pick up a copy for you and a copy for your teacher!

For two hundred years children have been coming up missing in pairs. At first it was hard to figure out what the pattern was. Then it happened. One child was always beautiful, came from a good home, and was a good kid, while the other was troublesome in every aspect and an outcast from society. But questions still remained. Why? Where were the kids? And who was behind it? When Sophie and Agatha are kidnapped, their ideas of what it would be like if they had been kidnapped are turned upside down as they discover the School of Good and Evil, just as fabled, but instead of good sweet Sophie going to the School of Good, she is somehow send to the School of Evil and Agatha is sent to the School of Good. Totally unfitting of a girl who nobody likes and has a creepy pet cat. Will Sophie and Agatha find out that they really aren’t that different after all and that maybe it wasn’t a mistake they were placed where they were? “‘Hi! Nice to see you! Give me your clothes,’ said Sophie, staring at Agatha’s pink dress.” I can hardly wait for the next book to come out. If you haven’t read this book, I urge you pick up the hardcover as it is so beautifully designed that it totally completes the book and you too will be dying for book two!

You have probably already watched the movies, but you have a lot of time this summer to read the books and experience all of the stuff not in the movies that make the books even better! Let your imagination go wild with his series!
