definitely my favorite CU book. this book is fantastic for adults and children, and has surprisingly helped shape me as a person.

it's funny, but lacks a bit when it comes to the DOAWK series.

this book is fantastic, one of James' best in my opinion.

I'll be honest-in the beginning I expected this book to be trash. BUT....we we reading it in school do I didn't quit reading it. It turned out to be really good! The Giver teaches us about what would happen if the government controlled our society-like completely controlled it. What would happen if we could't make choices. What happened if they chose when we were born, the job we could have, even who we marry! But then again, no one is hungry. Everyone has a job. And sudden deaths rarely happen. Jonas sees this as a perfect community...until he is selected as a giver. That changes it all.

OK, let's get this out of the way, this book may be one of the best books ever made. It has a storyline and lore that can make me cry sometimes. this is a must read for anyone.

This is truly a life-changing story. It really grabs how people with disabilities are treated bad and get bullied just because they can't do regular things like walk, talks eat, drinks on their own but truly they are the same on the inside. They all have feelings and I they understand if they get bullied. This is shown in this book. I recommend this book if you like some books that have sadness in them.
