The ruling class tries to ensure she fails, especially because the system depends on keeping people in their assigned place. Rain is then forced into a dangerous challenge to prove herself, which involves traveling with her best friend and an unlikely ally to scale the highest peak and defeat a monster at its summit. This was my favorite part of the book. Overall, I really enjoyed this book because it kept a strong sense of tension throughout and made Rain’s journey feel both inspiring and impactful from beginning to end. I'm glad I got to read this book before it got released, it was an amazing book! I definitely recommend it for 10 years old and above.
