This book is a boy's point of view about his dislike of reading. Yet, reading itself get's him interested in the death of a girl named Susan. He plays with a monkey, feeds his curiosity, visits his grandmother, and even steals a "diamond". This book is about a kid named Derek Fallon. He is a bad boy in the book,he would conduct silly investigations and would water balloon trucks. School was over and he was ready for Summer. Although all of his ides for the Summer get thrown out the window as his mother takes him to learning camp for the Summer. Then after spending some time in the camp he starts to like it and he makes new friend.
