I think what makes St. Patrick's Day so universally popular is by the four leaf clovers. The author states in paragraph 5, it states " The people of Ireland believe that finding a four leaf clover, whose leaves represent hope, faith, love, and happiness, brings good luck." I chose this answer because it is telling you it is good luck, and some people might want to have good luck.
