I like it, But where do the flies come from?

I found it interesting that zebras have short hair and that the flies could bite them more easily but the zebra's stripes keep the flies away! Plus there are species of zebras in the world. I think that zebras have pretty cool camouflage. I really liked this article because it was about animals. Why did it take so long for the scientist to figure this out?
