I believe that the officials should change there course, the lives of families is in stake and all they are doing is giving a huge risk for those families and not helping them out. They should've cleared out the town and evacuated the families. The mayor seem'd like he was in his right mind. He had the best interest for those families and mind, and looked like he did care. Although some people didn't like that officials were trying to divert the volcano due to spiritual beliefs of a goddess. I don't think a divert would be really helpful.
