In a terrifying future world, four girls must depend on each other if they want to survive.

Louisa is nervous about being sent away to a boarding school -- but she’s excited, too. And she has her best friend, Maddie, to keep her company. The girls have to pretend to be twin sisters, which Louisa thinks just adds to the adventure!

Country Manor School isn’t all excitement, though. Louisa isn’t sure how she feels about her new roommates: athletic but snobby Rosie and everything’s-a-conspiracy Evelyn. Even Maddie seems different away from home, quiet and worried all the time.

Still, Louisa loves CMS -- the survival skills classes, the fresh air. She doesn’t even miss not having a TV, or the internet, or any contact with home. It’s for their own safety, after all.

So. Much. Suspense! This lesser-known dystopia is worth the read 100%! I love the twists and turns, and Louisa, and Maddie's friendship issues creating a rift. Not to mention that cliffhanger ending!

OK first I saw this, great cover. Looked it up. Great ratings on Goodreads, and now I really want to read this book. I will put in a star rating, once I have actually read this book.

This book is super interesting filled with a lot of suspense and adventure. If you like books with a lot of suspense this is definitely one to go for.

This book is a great read! It has an interesting and suspenseful plot, full of page turners! The characters are interesting and relatable. In my opinion, what's not to like about this book and the rest of the series?

I am reading it for my book club. It is great and has an accurate depiction of the future. Gripping characters and a strong plot. It is very short though, only like 200 pages.

Maddie and Louisa are best friends who are living in Chicago in the middle of war. It is not a safe place for children to be so Louisa parents are going to send her to a boarding school close to the border of Canada. Maddie parents are both in the war so Maddie pretends she's Louisa's sister so she can go to the boarding school as well. On the ride there they meet a girl named Evelyn. She has a theory that the school is really a secret Alliance(the enemy of the U.S.A) training school. Louisa is not buying it because her and her new friend Rosie love the school. They have cool classes like how to survive in the wild or how to build a bomb or how time start a fire. But Maddie and Evelyn are not buying it. Though it sounds crazy, is it possible that Evelyn is right and her and her friends are being trained to work against their own country? Read the book to find out.!
