By Carolyn London
So I usually like some folktales and this one was okay but the stories could have been more exciting and interesting. Not that bad but I wish that the stories weren't told by the grandpa, just written down.

Utterly Me, Clarice Bean
By Lauren Child
I've always loved Clarice Bean, and when I reread this favorite elementary school book, I was filled with happy memories of simpler times. I loved reliving the funny and quirky story of Clarice and her friends and her love of Ruby Redfort. I feel like I've told this to everyone I've talked to about this book, but the author of this book is Lauren Child, also well known for her Charlie and Lola picture books. In the Clarice Bean series, Clarice and her best friend Betty are obsessed with a series called Ruby Redfort about an eleven-year-old undercover detective and spy, and that's when I became obsessed with the idea of the series. Then I learned when I was about 10 years old that so many fans of Clarice Bean actually wrote to Lauren Child asking her to write a real Ruby Redfort series. And she did, and those books are also amazing so I encourage you to check those out too!! Clarice is faced with many mysteries that seem to be up to her to solve. This book was a blast from the past for me, and I totally loved reading it again after all these years!

Wheres Wally Now
By Martin Handford
Okay, this isn't a chapter book, but it was definitely cool for my mom to allow this book to be part of my history homeschooling this summer. Waldo and his friends are walking through history. Some of the drawings are pretty graphic, so parents beware for smaller kids. You will see people are being burned at the stake, eaten by lions, etc, The scenes are from the Stone Age The Stone Age through the future. Some of my favorites were: The Riddle of the Pyramids (2590 BC), Fun and Games in Ancient Rome (58 AD), On Tour with the Vikings (985 AD) and the The End of the Crusades (1188 AD).
The Foot Book
By DR. SEUSS
Book Review by Popcorn Owl - My book is The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss. This is a funny book and it is fiction. This book is about feet. It has funny poems and pictures in it. My favorite poem and picture is: “Slow feet, quick feet, trick feet, sick feet.” I hope you like it! I give this book five stars because I think it is funny. Also, I like the rhyming and the pictures. I recommend this book for kids 6 and up to read. Little kids could ask a grown up to read it to them. I recommend this book because if you like silly books.
