My Weirdest School #1: Mr. Cooper Is Super!

By Dan Gutman

I liked this book. I thought it was funny when Mr. Cooper was dressing up as different people in fact I think that someone dresses up like people in every book. My favorite character is Mr. Granite ( the real Mr. Granite). because he says he is from the planet etinarg but at first before all the aliens arived I thought Mr. Granite was kidding and he was not from another planet. :D that is why I like this book. :D

Fable Comics: Amazing Cartoonists Take On Classic Fables from Aesop and Beyond

Fable Comics: Amazing Cartoonists Take On Classic Fables from Aesop and Beyond

By Charise Mericle Harper

In this book, you will revisit fables that you probably enjoyed when you were little but this time, you will find them with lavish pictures and interesting story lines. From the classics, The Tortoise and the Hare, to modern tales, The Great Weasel War, every fable will be thoroughly enjoyed. I would recommend this for ages 8+ This book was so fun and cool! I liked how the authors added new parts and the pictures were so pretty. Especially one, which i can't seem to remember its name... I would definitely recommend this.

Blue Willow

Blue Willow

By Doris Gates

I didn't like this book that much because the girl didn't feel like she was 9. The feelings were portrayed well and the descriptions were good but the pace was so bumpy which I did not like. I would recommend this for ages 9+

Before We Were Free

Before We Were Free

By Julia Alvarez

JoJo

Julia Alvarez, the author of Before we were Free takes readers back in time to the 60s in Dominican Republic. The setting is in the Dominican Republic in 1960. Some of the main characters are Anita, Carla, Mami, Papi and Tio Toni. Some of the plot is the SIM invades Anita’s house. Julia’s writing style is in first person. I don’t like it because it was hard to follow who was who. She makes it confusing on whether Chucha is a human or a pet. It also does not feel like you are in Dominican Republic in the 1960’s. Julia’s writing style is in first person. I don’t like it because it was hard to follow who was who. She makes it confusing on whether Chucha is a human or a pet. It also does not feel like you are in Dominican Republic in the 1960’s. ¨It turns out that the SIM discovered the plot and most of our uncle´s friends were arrested¨ Before we were Free was a boring book. I was long and had to many spanish words. If you like action adventure or fantasy than this book is not for you. If you like books about social issues than this book is for you. Before we were free was given the Pura Belpre Award. Julia grew up in the Dominican Republic.
