Alexis's Half-Baked Idea (Cupcake Diaries)

Alexis's Half-Baked Idea (Cupcake Diaries)

By Coco Simon

The first Cupcake Diaries book with this new style of art is pretty good! Alexis Becker has always been known for being the smart one, the businessy one, the organized one. But when she looks at her older sister Dylan, who is a popular cheerleader and has tons of well-known friends, Alexis feels "uncool" in comparison. Alexis wants to be less down-to-earth and more free-spirited like her sister, so she makes many attempts to do so, including trying out for the cheerleading team. This book is great for people who need to remember to feel comfortable in their own skin. However, I feel that the writing was actually not really up to par: compared to the other books, I found this one a bit boring. It also focused more on Alexis' trials than the Cupcake Club and cupcake-making. Overall, though, this isn't a bad book and I'd recommend it!

Alexis's Cupcake Cupid (Cupcake Diaries)

Alexis's Cupcake Cupid (Cupcake Diaries)

By Coco Simon

"What I needed was a card that said something like, 'Hey, crush! I really like you, but if you don't like me like that, then pretend you never got this card. Oh, and don't tell anyone, either. Especially your sister, who is my best friend!' Ha. Guess how many cards I found like that?" A sarcastic and wholesome book written by the beloved Coco Simon, businessy Alexis Becker is hopelessly crushing on her best friend Emma's older brother Matt. Valentine's Day is soon emerging, and though she considers it sort of a silly holiday, Alexis wants to do something nice for Matt. Especially since it appears that Matt likes her back, even confirmed by his own little sister, Emma! But when one tiny little Valentine soon spirals into a full-on whirlwind of broken hearts and confusion, maybe Alexis should've stuck to her motto that Valentine's Day is silly after all.

Timmy Failure: It's the End When I Say It's the End

Timmy Failure: It's the End When I Say It's the End

By Stephan Pastis

and here is short summary: the series finale, Timmy Failure and his class create a hilarious film about his life — just in time for the holidays. Though I, Timmy Failure, have solved many notorious crimes and now wish to enjoy my retirement, my fans have begged me to turn my memoirs into a movie, an ode to my greatness. I am, however, beset by enemies, the worst of whom is Tom John John, the buffoonish movie director. What’s more, my father is in town, working at a bar, which is obviously just a cover for our father-son crime-fighting partnership. And my dim-witted polar bear business partner, Total, wants to be reunited with his family. I should have known it would end like this. I expected more.

Aladdin Live Action Novelization

Aladdin Live Action Novelization

By Disney Book Group

This book should become a part of your world! This is an novelization of the new Aladdin movie. I heard there may be a Aladdin live action sequel but it’s going to be entirely new and not based on the cartoon sequel. Fun fact John August of the Arlo Finch series was a part of this movie

Growing Up with Aloha: A Nanea Classic 1 (American Girl Beforever Classic)

Growing Up with Aloha: A Nanea Classic 1 (American Girl Beforever Classic)

By Kirby Larson

When I received this book from DOGObooks, I was thrilled to start reading! Nanea Mitchell is a 9-year-old girl who is growing up during the beginning of World War II in Hawaii. Nanea is tired of being called the baby of the family and is determined to prove herself responsible by winning a 'Helping Hand' contest with the help of her 2 best friends, Lily and Donna. But after the attacks by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, where Nanea's dad works, the contest doesn't seem to matter anymore. Lily's father has been taken away, and Donna and her mother might have to leave Hawaii because they are labeled "unnecessary" by the government! Plus, Nanea's beloved puppy is missing! Everything is a mess. Nanea doesn't know what to do besides try to help out as much as she can. But being a kid amidst the war, it will be hard. Will life in Hawaii ever be the same? This book is outstanding! I didn't know too much about Pearl Harbor before reading this book, but now I've learned a lot! This book has humor, adventure, and a twist at the end that will make you want to read the sequel! I recommend this book for kids 8+!

Lucky for him, his sons, Joe and Frank, help him on the case. Will thehy be able to turn the theives over to the sherrif, or will they be the laughing stock of their village? This book was good! I think this series is the second best mystery series after Nancy Drew.
