The Land of Forgotten Girls

The Land of Forgotten Girls

By Erin Entrada Kelly

Soledad “Sol” Madrid has gotten through twelve whole years of her life using imagination. Sometimes she imagines herself in a rocket ship, or living in a gigantic mansion, or inside a fairy tale. But none of that is actually true for her. In reality, her mother and one of her sisters are dead, and she lives with her stepmother because her father went to the Philippines a few years ago. He hasn’t come back, and Sol often dreams of running away from their home in Louisiana with her younger sister Ming. But when Ming starts to believe a story Sol told her, about their make-believe aunt who lives in the jungle, everything gets messed up. How will Sol convince her sister to believe the truth? Read this book to find out! Once again, author Erin Entrada Kelly creates a heartfelt, witty, and creative novel that readers will love. The Land of Forgotten Girls is an unforgettable book, and I rate it 4/5 stars.

Persephone the Daring (Goddess Girls)

Persephone the Daring (Goddess Girls)

The new mortal boy Orpheus has swept the entire girl population in Mount Olympus Academy off their feet! With a clear, lovely voice and beautiful lyre-playing skills, Orpheus looks and sounds the part of a heartbreaker popstar. He's one of the top rising musicians on Olympus, but after a freak accident, his girlfriend Eurydice is suddenly taken into the Underworld. Heartbroken, Orpheus loses all motivation. He knows that once you go into the Underworld, you never come out. Persephone's dating Hades, and, seeing Orpheus so dismal, she tries to help Orpheus lead Eurydice out of the Underworld. But can helping another romantic relationship break her own? Fast-paced and fun, this is one of my favorite Goddess Girls books in the series!

Aphrodite the Diva (Goddess Girls)

Aphrodite the Diva (Goddess Girls)

By Joan Holub, Suzanne Williams

Aphrodite has always been, without a doubt, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. And she looks the part too; with her long, flowing blond hair, crystal-clear blue eyes, and impeccable fashion style, she's bombarded with compliments this way and that. But when Aphrodite visits Egypt, she comes face-to-face with her stiffest competition yet (though that's not saying much since she's never had competition before in the first place): Isis, the Egyptian goddess of love and beauty. Exotic, regal, and coveted, Isis clearly gives Aphrodite a run for her money. The two goddessgirls are desperate to face off once and for all to see who can claim the true spot of "the goddess of love and beauty." So, while strolling through the mortal realm, they find a worthy trial: Pygmalion, a bitter middle-aged man who refuses to even look at the girls in the agora. But there's more than what meets the eye. As Isis and Aphrodite race to find Pygmalion's perfect girl, Aphrodite finds out the missing puzzle piece of Pyg's story, but can she still pull through or will she sacrifice her spot as "the love goddess" for Pygmalion's true love of his life? Exciting, sweet, and fast-paced, this has long since been one of my favorite books of all time!

Artemis the Brave (Goddess Girls)

Artemis the Brave (Goddess Girls)

By Joan Holub, Suzanne Williams

This book was awesome. I already was a Greek geek but still this book was awesome! The book is about goddess' in their child part life when they are in an academy. The main character in this book is Artemis, goddess of the hunt and the moon. She starts liking this new mortal in her school. His name is Orion. This is Artemis' first crush. She keeps on trying to make him like her and turns out he kinda does . Turns out he was trying to use her as an advantage to get win. When she finally realizes that, she pulls a prank on him. Read the book to find out about the prank. This book is just always awesome. They have a series about them but not just Artemis. There's Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite, and Persephone. Even though most of the facts aren't true the author is still cool. (The author is making a lot of the facts not true about Greek myths because I think she wants to minimize the violence.) The only problem is it is too girly. They should make a boy series and call it God-boys or something. Still READ it. It is so worth reading for!!!

Heather: The Violet Fairy (Rainbow Magic: The Rainbow Fairies, No. 7)

Heather: The Violet Fairy (Rainbow Magic: The Rainbow Fairies, No. 7)

By Daisy;Copyright Paperback Colle Meadows

I have been reading this book out loud to my little sister. At first I thought that this book would be boring, but I was pleasantly surprised! This book actually has a pretty good plot. It mentions how Rachel and Kristy are trying to find the last rainbow fairy, Heather. It is actually a pretty good book and I would recommend it for ages 4-7. The only thing that I did not like about this book is that it sort of requires you to have previous knowledge of the series or to have read the first few books. Since there is over a 100 books in this series it is hard to read them in order. Overall, I would recommend this book to younger children. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. If you liked this book, I think you should look at the other rainbow fairy books (there are a lot!) and the Nancy Drew and The Clue Crew series. That is also a good book for ages 4-7. Hope you like this book! Happy Reading!
