This is the beginning of one of the best Pokemon Manga series I've ever read! Yellow is a normal kid. Except for one thing. She has special powers that allow her to heal and read Pokemon's minds!

Awesome! I read this book after my class did an American Revolution unit for a reading group and I L O V E D it. "George Washington's Socks" features a group of kids who want to camp - until they discover a mysterious wooden boat near the edge of the water. A sort of spell comes over them, and they jump in and row away. Little did they expect to row right into the times of Washington crossing the Deleware River, on a surprise attack and the turning point for the 13 colonies! Have you ever been the odd one out? Or to the point where because you so odd and weird looking, your life is in danger all the time? Welcome to the hard life of a thirteen-year-old Tanzanian boy, Habo short for Dhahabo, which means “golden”. In the realistic fiction book Golden Boy by Tara Sullivan, Habo is albino which is very rare. Unlike the rest of his dark-skinned family, he has yellow hair, light eyes, and pale white skin. All of his family, except for his sister Asu, has a very hard time accepting who he is. Habo has a hard time accepting who he is himself. A lot of times in the book his brother can't even look at him without making Habo very uncomfortable and not confident with his looks. A similar book to this is Ghost Boy by Iain Lawrence. It is about an albino boy that sticks out as well. Tara Sullivan was born in India and spent her childhood living with her parents in Bolivia, Bangladesh, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic. She went to Tanzania to interview many families which tells me that she got good information. I would definitely recommend this book to others, but more specifically ages eleven and up would enjoy the book. I would rate this book a 5/5. This book shows love, kindness, passion, and dedication. In the book Habo is so dedicated to travel for his safety. It also showed the overall thinking process of a boy with an incredibly tough life, which is something that I really enjoyed.

Oh my gosh this is the best book I've ever read!! I really stumbled onto this by accident when searching for another book. Maude is a very...poor? Sad? Lonely? 16 year old orphan in a small town in the north of France. She is abused by her stepmother and her stepfather is a little less worse, but still a terrible, ignorant "fair and justifying lawyer". She does her homework in a basement where the only light is from a weak flashlight, so it's plainly very hard to concentrate. The only comfort in her life is music. (I heard this book has an amazing soundtrack) No one recognizes her struggle or ignore it. One day, the school is having a field trip to Paris, which Maude beg her stepfather to allow her. he tells her to get 15/20 at math or more. The thing is, Maude is very bad at math, and her teacher knows it. She tries A LOT to get a better score but her teacher doesn't even check her answers and put 5/20...Maude get very determined, and change it into 15. In Paris, she meets a literally LIFE CHANGING person after playing a piano in a cafe. That's how she start her life as a teen music star with Matt, a famous teen pop star. She realizes the truth about her and it's amazing to watch her grow, with help from her friend/new family. This is better than Hunger Games, Harry Potter or any other famous books. THIS IS THE BEST! As you go into this book, please get your homework done first because this is too good! ;D

This book has A LOT of rhyming in it. If you read this book aloud you can't help but sing it. Thought this was a very good but for young readers.Each page rhymes!
