Paper Towns

Paper Towns

By John Green

Had I not read Looking for Alaska before this, I would've given this book five stars. The reason being is that the characters are very similar. A deep, different and beautiful girl who has an otherwise unremarkable guy wrapped around her finger. The girl gets him to go out of his comfort zone, leading to all sorts of adventures. But both books have this sort of 'no way this is happened' vibe, when the settings and events are completely ordinary, yet somehow John Green twists it in with a summer-love feel that is like a hazy memory at best. Or at least, that's how it is up until the end. But, to avoid spoilers, let's just say that the quote, "You don't love me, you love the idea of me," is very fitting.

The One and Only Ivan

The One and Only Ivan

By Katherine Applegate

I loved this book so much it was so sweet and so heart breaking all at the same time. It really made me want to read it more because it was always so mysterious but I always wanted to know what was going to happen next. This book is so good and I have heard this book so much because my great grandma would read this book to me before I would go to bed and my sister when she got to fifth- grade to. This is one of my favorite books I have ever read and I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed hearing the whole story about what happened and not just when he was older.

Dork Diaries 6: Tales from a Not-So-Happy Heartbreaker

Dork Diaries 6: Tales from a Not-So-Happy Heartbreaker

By Rachel Renée Russell

Dork diaries are so great. This is the first one I read so I knew nothing but my sister has books 1,2, and 3. I love the book so much. It is based on Valentine's day! Today is January 30! Nikki loves Brandon and her sister miss Bri Bri cut her hair. Brandon 's phone is sending her messages. She ends up getting really mad and being rude to Brandon. The sweetheart dance is coming up and she dosn 't want to ask her crush. Brandon thinks something weird is going on. Mackenzie on the other hand. That was your hint. You should read the book and not reply. I want to hear from everyone. Out of 100, it's totally 100. Get ready to laugh and have fun. You definitely will be surprised at what happens. There is so much of love, laughing and more. For a 320 page book, I am surprised I read it in one night and one day. I understood everything! Make sure when you read the book, you are prepared and remember what I said that happens and what is included. You should start reading! Get to the book.

The Baby-Sitters Club #16: Jessi's Secret Language

The Baby-Sitters Club #16: Jessi's Secret Language

By Ann M. Martin

Jessi is a girl who just moved to Stonybrook, she joined Ballet academy, and met a new best friend, who introduced her to the Baby Sitters Club (BSC), and when they got a new client for a Deaf child who uses American Sign Language (ASL), Jessi immedetly took the job. When Jessi goes to the clients house she speaks with Matts (the Deaf child) mom, and learned a couple simple signs. When Matt gets home, she stays and hangs out with Matt for a little bit, she later learned that Matt goes to a school for the Deaf (FYI, there are also camps for the deaf, I've been to one w/ a Deaf family member). Later in the book, before the ballet performance, she tells her family she has a surprise! Her surprise is that they will be thumping the beat of the music for Matt and his entire class! I think this is a really sweet book, and I %100 recommend this book!
