Strays like Us is a fun, touching, story about a girl and a dog. Fred, never Winifred, has gone to live with Margery, her guardian while her mom is in jail. Margery says to stay away from the dog next door but when Fred hears the dogs pitiful whining how can she possibly stay away? Cecilia Galante is a great author and I think that girls ages 8 through 12 would enjoy this book a lot. Strays like Us has a 3-5 grade reading level and was published in 2018. I hope that you give this book a try.

This book is about a princess that is trying to take back her kingdom. Theodosia was six when her kingdom was invaded by the Kalovaxians and her mother, the Queen of Flame and Fury, was murdered right in front of her eyes. On the same day, she became a prisoner in her own castle and was crowed the Ash Princess; as a taunt to her mother’s legacy. She suffers through ten years of humiliation from the Kaiser who loves nothing more than to make her wear a crown made of ashes. One night, the Kaiser makes her kill a prisoner who turns out to be her father to prove her loyalty. After that night, Theo has decided that she cannot simply survive in this nightmare; she needs to fight back. This book is amazing and descriptive. The way the author describes the experiences Theo goes through; it is almost like you can see her pain and fury yourself. The abuse she has to go through makes you understand her philosophy and ideology more clearly. Be warned though; this book is the first of a trilogy so if you read this and enjoy it as I did, you have to read Lady Smoke and Ember Queen.

This is a graphic novel about two friends/co-workers at a pumpkin patch. Josie and Deja have worked together at the Succotash Hut for years. But this is the last day before they go off to college. Deja is a witty and confident girl who attracts boys and girls alike; rumor is she has dated pretty much everyone at the pumpkin patch at some point. Josie, on the other hand, is very serious and shy. On their last day, Deja encourages Josie to confess to his unrequited love; the girl who works at the Fudge Shoppe. If they can find her. Deja and Josie go on a goose hunt around the entire pumpkin patch trying to find this girl. But when Josie finds this girl; will it really be what he wanted? This book really caught my attention because of the inclusion of the LGBTQ+ character and the unusual setting. Let's be honest, how many graphic novels are there about love in a pumpkin patch? This book has an awesome plot twist at the end, so you should read it! No…don’t skip to the end of the book to find out what the plot twist is…you know who you are…

ok, everyone says that Edward and Bella are perfect for each other and like #relationshipgoals but are they that great? like really. They have some major problems. Like this girl is attracted to a guy who likes the SMELL OF HER BLOOD. If that isn't a red flag, I don't know what is. (Spoiler Alert) But the reason Jacob was attracted to Bella was because of the embryo of Renesmee in her. If you get what I'm saying. So THAT would be weird too... But seriously there is a lot of other guys waiting for you Bella...so I'm on #teamlitterallyanyoneelse But tell me what is better #teamjacob or #teamedward?

Amazing! A truly good book, very enthralling and filled with excitement. A must-read for animal lovers! Firestar is now leader of his Clan. This book was a great way to learn about Amelia's life, and I loved the pictures that helped me visualize what was happening in the story. Amelia's life in inspiring for everyone because it shows what women can accomplish.
