Mr. Terupt Falls Again

Mr. Terupt Falls Again

By Rob Buyea

I thought this was a decent book, but the first book: "Because of Mr. Terupt" is much better. So Peter, Lexie, Danielle, Jeffrey, Jessica, Anna, and Luke are back with Mr. Terupt for 6th grade. Peter: His mom and dad are "forcing" him to go "Riverway" a private school where his dad, grandpa, and brother went to, but Peter doesn't want go go. Lexie: Starts hanging out with some bad high schoolers who make her do some wrong choices. She also wants to be older and impress boys. Danielle: Knows her family is not telling her something important that is worrying them. Jeffrey: Finds a baby when walking to school one day. Jessica: finds important information about Mr. Terupt's past. Anna: Learns about her dad she never knew. Luke: becomes a "detective"...makes a lot of observations and asks a lot of questions.

Warriors: Code of the Clans (Warriors Field Guide)

Warriors: Code of the Clans (Warriors Field Guide)

By Erin Hunter

If you've read the Warriors series, you'll know that warrior cats have to follow a specific set of rules, called the Warrior Code. It includes stuff like "the leader should have a deputy" and "clan cats shouldn't trespass on other clans' territory." But how were these special rules created? As it turns out, many of these rules had events that led to them being added to the code! But just how, exactly? Well, if you want to find out, you should read this book! This book is perfect for people who enjoyed the main series.

The Normal Kid (Exceptional Reading & Language Arts Titles for Intermediate Grades)

By Elizabeth Holmes

Have you ever just wanted to be normal? If you have, then you can relate to Sylvan! Sylvan just wants people to stop calling him "Tree Boy" and be normal, but his mother always insists on taking him along on protests to stop a new Walmart from being built, or to defend deer from people. One day at school, Sylvan meets two very un-normal people: Charity, who spent years in Africa, and Brian, who fidgets a lot and loves jumping on his trampoline. But Sylvan, Charity, and Brian all like their new teacher Mr.In. One day, it looks like the principal might want to fire Mr. In! How will they stop her from doing so? Sylvan, Charity, and Brian will have to work together so that Mr. In can keep his job! I really liked The Normal Kid because it's both funny and interesting.

Goodbye, Mr. Terupt

Goodbye, Mr. Terupt

By Rob Buyea

bsc

The gang is back! Lexie and Peter are back to their on and off relationship, and when Lexie sees an ad on tv for a test that she can take to find out if she has the same cancer gene as her mom, she gets it. The thing is, Lexie's too worried to see the results. Peter is still the comedy king, but when the gang learns some shocking information, he's giving someone the silent treatment. Jeffery really wants to make the varsity wrestling team, but when he needs to do something to get onto the team and because of it, breaks up with Anna- is it worth it? Anna isn't doing so well, now that her mom and Charlie are getting married and she gets neglected by her mom as well as Jeffery's treating her bad. Danielle is switching to an insulin pump for her diabetes, and it's getting kind of hard for her. As well, maybe she and another boy are closer than they think... Luke is doing a science project, but he's also learning that he seems to like someone. Jessica is into poetry, but when her dad comes back- does that mean her mom and him will get back together? In the conclusion to the series, the gang makes you laugh, cry, and realize what friendship really means. Happy reading!

Saving Mr. Terupt

Saving Mr. Terupt

By Rob Buyea

Looking for a good book to read? Well Saving Mr. Terupt by Rob Buyea is an amazing book to read. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Saving Mr. Terupt is a realistic fiction book that is set in the students current middle school that they are attending and Snow Hill School in Mr. Terupt's classroom. This book is told from 7 different characters points of view. Saving Mr. Terupt is the 3rd book in the series. In comparison to Mr. Terupt Falls Again, the 2nd book in the series, the stories involve the same characters, Jeffery, Anna, Alexia, Peter, Luke, Jessica, and Danielle. Also, the 2 book's setting and story are different. This book shows an amazing relationship that students can have with a teacher that means a lot to them. For example in the text it says, " It was time for more drastic measures. There was no way I was allowing this to happen. These people had made a mistake." This shows that they have a strong relationship because it shows that when the results came in and Mr. Terupt was going to loose his job they were prepared to do anything it takes to get it back. This book is about a group of friends that suffer through multiple challenges along the book. For example, a big fight they had with each other, trying to save their favorite teacher and much more. Although, they might suffer through a lot of challenges, they also have a lot of fun moments too. Like, the "Everything Fair", planing their campaigns in Mr. Terupt's classroom and much more. If you liked Because of Mr. Terupt or Mr. Terupt Falls Again, then you would like this one too. I would recommend reading the books in order so, you would have a better understanding of the plots and relationships between the characters. Someone that would like this book are mostly students and kids ages between 10-14 years old because I think that they would relate more.

Later on, Eragon and Saphira leave for the Farthen Dur to attend the election of the new dwarf king, where the Az Sweldn rak Anhuin clan attemped to assainate Eragon. Eragon's dwarf friend Orik ends up being elected as king, and at the coronation, Saphira repairs the Isidar Mithrim. After the coronation, they head to Ellesmera to complete their training with Oromis and Glaedr, where Eragon finds out that his father was not Morzan, but Brom, making Murtagh his half-brother. Eragon, after begging the elven blacksmith Rhunon, recieves his special Rider's sword, which he names 'Brisingr', that bursts into flames whenever he says 'fire' in the ancient language. I really enjoyed this book and I reccomend it for anyone who has read Eragon and Eldest!

The Jungle Book-Treasury of Illustrated Classics Storybooks Collection by Rudyard Kipling (2013-01-21)

The Jungle Book-Treasury of Illustrated Classics Storybooks Collection by Rudyard Kipling (2013-01-21)

By Rudyard Kipling

The Jungle Book, by Rudyard Kipling, tells that even a little child can be astounding. Once, there was a boy named Mowgli. He was raised by a pack of wolves in the rainforests of India. Later though, he had to move to the village. Unfortunately, soon he was driven out by an old man because he thought he had bad behavior, but Mowgli did some amazing things, like skin a tiger. Nearby, there was a mongoose called Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. Rikki-Tikki was brought to Teddy’s home, but during the night, snakes would come there. The mongoose killed the intruding snakes! Finally, there was another boy called Little Toomai. Petersen Sahib, who caught all the elephants for the government, told him that he could have a job when the elephants danced, which Petersen thought meant never. Sahib said this because he didn’t want him to have job ever. Little Toomai waited, and soon the elephants started to dance! The hunters all had a feast, just because Little Toomai, who had seen elephants dancing. I recommend this story, having three stories in it, for boys and girls, grades third to fifth.
