Belly Up (FunJungle)

Belly Up (FunJungle)

By Stuart Gibbs

I read this book because I really loved Stuart Gibbs other series spy school and moon base alpha. It is a pretty good book about a kid who lives on a zoo that his mom and dad work for. He knows all the in and outs and has settled on playing pranks because he gets pretty bored sometimes. So when the zoo's mascot henry the hippo mysteriously dies one day and he sneaks into the autopsy and finds out the death might not be of natural causes, he decides to investigate. It was a pretty good book however I found that the plot was the exact same as Stuart Gibbs' other book, Space Case. There were so many things that were the same! I was shocked! If you have read both books please comment if you noticed this too, and if you can find all the things that are the same!

Chalice

Chalice

By Robin McKinley

As the next Chalice, Mirasol SHOULD have been apprenticed to the last one, but it didn't happen. And she doesn't have an experienced Master to help her, either, due to the fire that killed him and his Chalice together. Instead, the new master is a former Priest of Fire, and well.... there are issues. The new master can burn something by the touch of a hand if he isn't careful. The problem is made worse by the fact that nobody except Mirasol trusts the new Master. Mirasol has to take on the difficult task of bringing unity to the demesne. Will she succeed, or will she make the problem worse? Like all of Robin McKinley's books, the world building is excellent. In my opinion, Spindle's End has better worldbuilding, but this book really incorporates it into the plot. I liked this book better than Spindle's end overall, though.

The Trials of Apollo, Book Five: The Tower of Nero (Volume 5)

The Trials of Apollo, Book Five: The Tower of Nero (Volume 5)

By Rick Riordan

In this last installment in The Trials of Apollo series, reader finally hear the sweet but deadly ending to the Apollo series. With humor, action, and tricks, this book is perfect for Greek and mythology fans. Apollo has one last oracle to save, and now it's up to him to save it and destroy Nero from demolishing cities. With his friends and sons by his side, will Apollo finally be able to defeat Nero and his evil snake, Python, or will he lose yet another person and be heartbroken with guilt? At the beginning, Apollo just wanted to stop being Lester Papadopoulos and become a god again, but friendship over took his heart, and he doesn't know who he is or who he wants to be. Can he be there for his friends and make sure this deadly mission doesn't kill anybody, or will he fail and never become a god again? I Loved this last book, and I hope you guys like this book as much as I did. This book will surly make you cry for the characters and the plot.

Zeus the Mighty: The Trials of Hairy-Clees (Book 3)

Zeus the Mighty: The Trials of Hairy-Clees (Book 3)

By Crispin Boyer

Thank you, DOGOBooks! I won a copy of Zeus the Mighty: Book 3, The Trails of the Hairy-Clees and wanted to share how this is a great third installment of the series. From the first two books in the series you meet an overly obnoxious and confident hamster name Zeus. Along with his friends, book 3 takes you on another hilarious adventure all the while providing some great Greek myths in a light read. In book 3, the animal Olympians are listening to a podcast about Heracles and how he had to perform different labors. This leads to a new addition to the storyline, Hermes, a rescued hen, wanting to be a member of the Olympians. Zeus, Athena, Ares, Poseidon, and Demeter all agreeing the best way to have Hermes join is by performing “Hairy-Clees’ labors”. I enjoyed the comical dialogue and it is an easy to read book for older lower school to middle school kids who like animals and enjoy mythology.
