A Christmas Carol: The Junior Novel (Disney's a Christmas Carol)
By Disney Book Group
In this novel by Charles Dickens, Ebenezer Scrooge gets a visit from three spirits, The ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet To Come. Before this, though, coldhearted Scrooge gets a visit from his nephew, and at the door to his home, he sees the face of his deceased miser friend, Jacob Marley on the doorknob. Ebenezer is terribly frightened. Marley's ghost tells Scrooge he is getting a visit from the three spirits. Ebenezer is greeted by the ghost of Christmas past. Here, Scrooge sees himself as a schoolboy, at a ball with Mr. Fezziwig, and with a dear love. When the ghost of Christmas present arrives, he sees Bob Cratchit and his children, Martha, the young ones, Peter, and Tiny Tim. Tiny Tim is a cripple, with his tiny body supported by an iron frame, and a little crutch. Now, when he is visited by the ghost of Christmas yet to come, Scrooge sees his own gravestone, and tiny Tim's family weeping, because the poor boy dies. But, Ebenezer is prepared to change, and Tiny Tim lives, and 'God bless us, every one!'

11 Before 12
By Lisa Greenwald
If you like books that have a twist and are between the age of 8 to 12 I recommend the book 11 before 12 by Lisa Greenwald. Kaylan Terrel, the main character in the book is 11 years old and about to turn 12. She and her best friend Arianna Nodberg are going into middle school. Arianna and Kaylan decide to make a “Eleven Fabulous Things to Make Us Even More AMAZING Before We Turn 12” list. For example, they have to kiss a boy, undergo an image makeover, and highlight their hair. Arianna and Kaylan both think Jason, the boy who moved next door to Arianna, is cute. They have started to hang out as friends. However, Kaylan likes another boy named Tyler. Tyler is Kaylans brother Ryan’s best friend. Tyler is always over Kaylan’s house. Every time Kaylan sees or talks to Tyler, she doesn’t know what to say. A few weeks before school starts, Arianna and Kaylan got their schedules for school and they did not have any classes together, besides lunch. They have been at school for a little while now and things have started to fall apart. They haven’t been talking and they’re now in a huge fight. There is a lot more crazy stuff that will happen in this book, but I think it is time for you to read it yourself and find out what happens next. Will Kaylan and Arianna make up and be friends again? Will they complete their whole list? I hope you enjoy reading the book 11 Before 12 as much as I did.

The Year of the Fortune Cookie (An Anna Wang novel)
By Andrea Cheng
This book is really good! I love how Anna Wang seems to be so worried, but later on loves China and doesn't want to leave.
The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom
By Christopher Healy
This story is a bunch of fairy tales in a fairy tale, but with a twist. At first I was skeptical about this book, because I am very picky and choose-y about how fairy-tales are written and executed. BUT this book, this book and its story plot... is so exquisite and on-beat. I say this because the way the author introduces the characters one by one, takes different fairy-tales and mushes them together and creates something original, funny, and rich in wholesome-ness is so impressive! The way Healy lets things sail smoothly, then hits you with an unexpected wave is what makes this book riveting and hard to put down. I'd say that this book is SO underrated. If I hadn't had it on my kindle recommendations, I never would've read it. Except, I'd be obliviously missing out on such a nostalgic and lyrical story. I've always been a sucker for fairy tales, and have read and coveted them since forever, so this really reminds me of a more sophisticated version of classics. Overall, this was a very magnetic and graceful take on what might happen after Ever After, and was super enjoyable and well-written.

The Brilliant World of Tom Gates
By Liz Pichon
This book had me laughing throughout the whole story. Honestly this book was hilarious, it had cool and cute doodles and captions with different types of fonts... it also reminded me of the Diary of the Wimpy Kid series, but this book was more hectic and funnier in my opinion. Tom Gate(reminds me of Bill Gates :D) Is our typical average guy who likes to draw. doesn't like to do homework, and annoys his sister. On the first day of school he got a guy teacher, Mr. Fullerman, put him right in the front right next to Amy Porter(a girl he's trying to impress) and Marcus Meldrew(one annoying little kid[although he's not little]). His best mate is Derek who he's in a band with called the DOGZOMBIES, and they live close to each other. Tom writes all about his life even about the no-so-fun camping trip! I really liked the character, Mr. Fullerman, because he play a significant and funny role. Once Tom got his Dude3 tickets.. his tickets got destroyed by a (*spoiler*) Will he ever be able to see the Dude3? Who or what destroyed the tickets? Well it's up to you to read and find out. I URGE you guys to read it, trust me it's soooooo hilarious, such a cute, funny read.
Becoming Naomi Leon (Americas Award for Children's and Young Adult Literature. Commended)
By Pam Munoz Ryan
I loved this book! It was about an girl called Naomi and her brother Owen, who was born crippled. They were raised by their grandmother, since Naomi's mom took them away, but then ditched them and gave them to their grandmother. One day, their mother comes and interrupts their peaceful life (well, sort of) and tries to get Naomi back, but not Owen. At first, Their real mom, Skye is very nice. She bribes them with gifts, and she pretends to be nice. But still, she was never a good mom, and started to lose her temper and not care about them. Naomi learns that her mom never did care about them from her heart, but was just using gifts to make them like her. Naomi also finds out, while waiting at school for her mom that she was at an rehab center multiple times, and started drinking AGAIN. When Skye goes to court, saying she wants to keep Naomi, Naomi's closest family and friends go with her to Mexico to seek help from her dad. This was an one of a kind book that you MUST read! Jessi and the Dance School Phantom (Baby-Sitter Club, 42)
By Ann M. Martin
Super good. Jessi Ramsey gets the lead part in a cool play. She is super excited but someone in her dance school is not. Her stuff begins to go missing and sometimes there is notes that say stuff like, "Beware." Jessi and the other BSC girls are worried but how will they find out? They don't know but, in the end, they find out is.... You will have to read it! Happy reading!
