The ship's name is the Onion, a ship spoken of in legends. Locked in the brig is a bald magician named Marfak West, and he is very evil. There are also some weirdly named pirates, a mediocre pirate chef, and a strange magician apprentice, Peter. This quirky novel tells the tale of how Brine, former servant to the grouchy old magician so-and-so. Together with Peter, the magician's apprentice, she flees her home of the Minutes Islands and comes across the Onion. Convinced that a pirate's life is not for them, the ship's captain Cassie O'Pia decides to sell them as servants at Morning Island; alas, her plan is interrupted when that evil bald magician suddenly appears and tells them of a mysterious place near the north pole called Magical North... There, they say, since all magic flows north, one may stand and see all. Ooooh. And there's treasure. This amazing book was full of great characters, a nicely imagined fantastical world, and the evil penguins were a nice touch. Or are they puffins? Also, the excerpts from the books of the Magical North world at the start of chapters added to the story. But I was perturbed when I realized that the cover is not accurate, since there isn't actually a giant octopus in the story. Also, how Marfak West doesn't tell lies is mentioned many times; around three people said that in the book, and there are around three similes about pulling down mountains. Aside from that, the writing style was better than average. Great author, very original story. I definitely recommend it for seekers of good Middle-Grade Fiction.

Another story featuring a girl, Felicity Merriman, a very spunky colonial girl who has lived during the American Revolutionary War against Great Britain. Her father`s apprentice, Ben, has broken the apprenticeship agreement due to Ben running away to join George Washington`s army to war. But Felicity also has to help Ben to do something that is very important to Ben, and that meant that Felicity has to have giant amount of courage, strength but also wisdom to help. Would definitely recommend this book. - Happy Reading!

Her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Merriman always telling Felicity specific things of what not to do, because well, she can be a troublemaker and I think she is also daredevil every time when she is left in charge of her younger sister, Nan. Her father's store apprentice, Ben, who Felicity looks up to, even though Ben doesn't even have a real power over the store. But one day, Felicity has heard that there is a horse, a copper mare, which was owned by a man named Jiggy Nye. But Mr. Nye has treated that mare very badly that this mare ended up feeling afraid of him until Felicity has rescued her who Felicity has named, Penny, because of her copper fur. It's so good that I would recommend this! - Happy Reading!

I haven't even finished it, and it's not that good. It's one of those books that teachers always make you read. It's really cheesy. I like the layout, though. How Each chapter is told from a different character's perspective, and they each tell it a different way.

I love Little House In the Big Woods. I think it has more appeal to 3rd grade-7th grade. Laura lives with her Ma, Pa, and sisters, Mary, and Carrie, in the big woods of Wisconsin. Mary is a well behaved little girl, but Laura always finds herself getting into mischief, from slapping her sister, to tearing the seams on her pocket (on accident), she seems to get into trouble without even trying. She's jealous of Mary, with her long, golden locks, and the favor that she seemed to get from everyone. But, without showing it too much, she seems to be Pa's favorite. I liked how the book explained what they did, like when Pa was making the oven in the tree. My favorite part was during Christmas. I got the chance to actually try a maple cake, molded into the shape of a leaf, and it was very sweet!!! I love this book!

Its about a middle school kid named Rafe Khatchadorian who tries to break every school rule at Hills Village school.He is a super duper good drawer also. His brother Leonardo died at 3 or 2 by cancer.He pretends that his brother is still there and would see how it would be like if he was still there.This is a #1 New York times bestseller and there is a movie. He has a crush on a girl named Jeanne Galletta who is is at the school.He tries to get points by breaking a rule.He only has 3 lives and his goal is to get 1 million points. Rafe calls his future stepfarter i mean stepfather a Bear. He gets in trouble ALOT and gets detentions. A bully named Miller the Killer bullys him alot and destroyed Rafes notebook of drawings and rules.His mother is named Jules and his Step Dad is Carl and they argued in the book and Carl hurt Jules.Finally, he gets supspend from school.Thanks for reading.

I have read all the warrior books and they are very good but the series does get a little dull the farther and a little higher rated but its still an excellent series and I would highly recommend it

Sally Lockhart, who is rarely known as Veronica Beatrice in 1872. Despite Sally`s father, Matthew Lockhart, was suspiciously died due to the ship, Lavina, accident. Sally soon learned all about; Major Marchbanks, Seven Blessings, the ruby, and the opium, and Sally also soon learned that she is a key to both of the mysteries at same time; the opium and the ruby. During that time, she was only 16 this time in super crazy events. She also met one girl, Adelaide, who is very afraid of one lady, Mrs. Holland, who is hunting to kill Sally, and the man, Ah Ling whose real name is Henrick Van Eeden, also wanted to kill Sally. Sally`s aunt, Mrs. Caroline Rees, who is kinda mean and that caused Sally to move to the another place. Soon in the book, she met Mr. Higgs but when Sally has asked him about the Seven Blessings, he dies of fear. Later, Sally has met few people; Frederick Garland, a photographer, Rosa, Frederick`s sister, is an actress, and their worker, Mr. Temple. But the ending is very unexpected; that Major Marchbanks, who was killed while ago in the book, is actually Sally`s real father, but when she was very young baby, Major has gave her to Mr. Lockhart. And the ending of the book, the letter from Mr. Lockhart is very heart-feeling, but also little bit sad... - Happy Reading!

OK first I saw this, great cover. Looked it up. Great ratings on Goodreads, and now I really want to read the sequel to the first one. I will put in a star rating, once I have actually read this book.
